Yeah, not to start a "buzz" war, but I had the D7000 and it had directional buzz that you could hear 10-12ft away over decent volume. The picture quality was incredible, but I couldn't take the buzz. In fact, the new E6500 on Amazon already has bad reviews because of buzzing.
My experience with ST50 and the buzz issue has been the exact opposite. I have tested my ST50 like crazy for buzz (since I was sensitive to it with the D7000), and cannot hear it unless I put my ear behind and in back of the TV, and even then only on rare ultra bright white content. Obviously you may hear a slight buzz on an all white background with minimal sound, but I haven't thus far watched anything where I could detect any buzz from even 2 feet away. I think it has to do with whether the buzz is directional or not. The Pannys don't seem to "beam out" the buzz the way the Samsungs do. The Samsung buzz I experienced also had a deeper tone to it that made it very noticeable.
You really can't go wrong with the ST50. I have a 60" and I could not be happier. Highly, highly recommended. The picture quality is unreal. I thought the D7000 picture quality was amazing, and I like the ST50 even better. The picture quality is so natural with the perfect amount of brightness (I have a pretty bright room). I noticed a huge difference in brightness out of the box on Cinema.
Amazon already has thirteen ST50 reviews, and all of them are "5 Stars." And you can add another one from me for fourteen "5 Star" reviews (once I play with it a few more weeks).
