Panasonic VT50 Deals - Page 56

New Member, Long Time Lurker. To all those trying to price match at BB. My BEST success has been to go directly to the Customer Service desk. Avoid the TV or Magnolia departments. The Customer Service desk seems to be much more willing to do price matching.

Have a print out in your hand from the company you are trying to get them to price match. Make sure it is current from the same day you are in BB. If you have several different places that have a great price for the item you want, so much the better. Make sure you have a print out from EACH one. Make sure your paperwork does not reflect OUT OF STOCK from the low price store. If you get shot down from one person, walk away, and look around the store for a short time, and go back to customer service, and try a different person. If you still get shot down, move on to another BB store and the Customer Service Dept there.

I've had MUCH MORE success using this technique. In fact, I've never been denied price match at the Cust. Service desk. I live in the So. Cal. area, and the TV and Magnolia Depts. have been VERY reluctant to price match anything. However, Customer Service Dept. will bend over backwards to Price Match AND make you a happy Customer. I've purchased a LOT of items at BB and this always seems to work.

I just received my 65VT50 from PaulsTV. Great deal amazing picture. For those on the fence and if you have the room go for the bigger screen size.

Like Dalmation Doc, I am a long time lurker and new member.

Last night, I went to BB in Maryland with a J&R printout from two days prior that listed the 55VT50 for $1627. I was not sure if BB would PM it because 1) the price on J&R site yesterday was $1699 and 2) the printout was two days old.

I went to the the Magnolia dept. When the sales associate asked the manager if he could PM, the manager did not blink an eye and said 'of course!' So, got the 55VT50 for $1627 and it will be installed next week!

In a prior post, I saw a link for 3D glasses from Sears for $29. But they are not compatible with the VT50, right? I tried to PM these as well but learned they were not compatible.

I found the Panamax listed at Mountsandmore.net
Don't know who they are but they had the lowest price I could find and like I said BB matched it

Didn't even think they would and just mentioned it casually to the salesman while we were BS about the cheap prices on the glasses by Sears. He looked up the Mounts web site on his computer and said he would match it.
He didn't have one in stock so he ordered it for me and it will be sent to my house next week with free shipping.

Those should be compatible. They are the RF glasses. They have only had RF starting in 2012.

Please let us know how the Panamax works out and how much of a difference it makes. I didn't now if these really helped that much or was more snake oil..

Had purchased the 65vt50 for the pauls price of 2599 on NYE at a BB in Southeastern PA. Today went to a different BB with the adorama add. Customer service desk matched the 2399 price with no issues at all. Then went back to the magnolia dept to see abt the sears price on the glasses but no luck.

These really don't change the experience night and day. You are not going to see a PQ difference. They are important though. I liken it to driving your car on brand new pavement vs a poorly maintained street. Your car will still drive just as fast, but your tires, shocks and brakes may wear out faster. These devices simply provide a much more consistent and high quality power feed for your electronics to function on. They will tend to run cooler and last longer. Depending on the model chosen they can have an effect on audio though. Giving your amplifier deeper pockets to pull power from which really helps to bring out the maximum dynamic range of your sources. Don't expect it to turn your Denon into a Marantz(just an example), but it does help to make sure you are getting the most out of the equipment you do have.

If anyone wants to save some $$ and is near KC I have my 65" for sale in the classified section; Displays-> Plasma. Price is OBO, so depending on your offer you could get a steal. It's calibrated and 9 mo's of warranty left.

That's their way of saying no to the price match. Same as when they say "we would price match it, but we are out of stock and can't order any".

I printed the East Coast TV online ad and took it into a local SoCal Paul's TV. They matched the P65VT50 price and beat it by a few bucks. BB would not match the deal. $2,477.93 including tax and delivery. I hope this helps someone who is shopping. I get delivery this afternoon.

Bought my 65VT50 for $2599 at BBY via PM with buytvtoday on 12/10/12. Today I called back and asked for a further price match on today's price of $2425. Within 5 minutes I was assured the difference would be credited back to my credit card, saving me an add'l $174. Happy camper here!

Montgomeryville is where i bought it they matched pauls tv 2599. Oxford valley did the price match today of adorama for 2399. Hope this helps!

Quakertown customer service desk PM's Adorama for me last night. Girl said that adorama was "out of the area but they would match anyway." She also PM'd the Sears price on the 3d glasses for me. They had 2 pairs left on the shelf when I left.

I am going to bestbuy tomorrow and trying to get them to price match and give me the refund. I bought the tv on the first for 2899 and I tried to get them to match pauls, but now I have proof from adorama and east coast and pauls plus showing who is authorized. I also bougtht the 5 year warranty from them for an additional 600 and plus the elite bluray player and bw center channel was over 4k including tax. If they don't match I am going to threated to retun the stuff, but I hope they will work with me.

I was just about to post the same question. I tried using Paul's TV "30-day Price Protection Guarantee" against Adorama sale but was given every excuse they could find. I think their bottom line is if you can't pull it up online (Adorama was a phone in) and/or they are not an authorized dealer, it's a no go. It looks like East Coast TVs is not listed by Panasonic as an authorized dealer.

Meaning I have the print outs in hand from more than one place showing a cheap price. I showed them pauls on line with the computer in the store and they said no, they did knock 110 off the bluray and 55 off the center channel, but that is nothing compared the price I paid above pauls and adorama. If this isn't enough proof then I guess I return the tv and cancel the warranty and buy it online. Also I picked the tv up in the store and didn't have it shipped and paid tax on everything.

Levittown, NY BB PM'd the East Coast TV price on a 65VT50 of $2525 with free shipping, but would not honor the BuyTVToday.com price of $2425. Thanks for all the help as this thread has saved me some dough.

I also have part of a receipt from a person on here who got them to match the price, showing their item numbers and the price he paid. I wil push the issue with them that other stores are doing it and if they don't they will lose a longtime customer. I will be polite, a few hundred back is better than nothing in my eyes.

I just got back from the Best Buy in Tyler, TX...and they pricematched East Coast TV at the $2,525 price. No coupon. Came out to $2,733 with tax.

The guy actually called in to what he said was the Magnolia department and asked who they price match, and he stated Adorama was indeed a vendor they deal with. However, it had to reflect the price in cart for them to match it.

So we went with ECTV instead. Should be here next Saturday!

this is depressing. My apartment got broken into yday and the thieves made off with my 65" VT50 that i had bought in early june and i even spent the money getting it ISF calibrated last month. Time to start searching for deals again.
