yeah BB in store is 1699.99 on sale, so only another 100 for them
The 65 OTOH is 2899.99 vs 2399, probably why those of us looking for that deal are seeing a ton more resistance.
My BestBuy had the 55 at $1699 around new years but it's been $1999 ever since. I was waiting for it to go back down when this deal came up. And I'm glad it did because i was starting to get nervous about stock getting low.
Sandtrapppp, I don't know how you feel about Open Box items at Best Buy, but I got myself a fine specimine(65VT50 of course) of a TV at the Best Buy on Ih-10 west bound katy freeway past 610.
$1850 before taxes/2-yr warranty. $2260 with taxes/2-yr BB warranty. You might want to look around and see what some of the stores near you has in the open box section. They went 50% off the retail price and about $1100 less than their "sale" price.
Took the TV home, watched "Watchmen" on my blu-ray and squeed with delight at how beautiful it all looked.
I also went the open box route at Best Buy. I went in with the Adorama ad for $2399 which they agreed to price match. When looking at their stock they had one without a stand (I'm wall mounting it anyway). So they offered a further discount to $2150 before taxes. Feeling pretty good about this deal, as cost was my #1 priority on this purchase.
I'm going to BB tonight to see if they will match what PowerSeller.com currently has the 65" VT50 at... $2495 and a dicount code of SaveNow takes another $50 off that. Oh boy...
Well I got shot down. The BB here in Onalaska WI (western WI) is looking at competitors' return policies to deem them worthy. I guess BB is using return policy as a way to assess the competitor and decide if they are on the same level before considering price match. In the case of PowerSellerNYC their return policy states "we do not accept returns for refund" and "exchange only". Of course BB will accept returns for full refunds and without restocking fee. So, back to searching for the right price from the right competitor.
I'm also starting to worry that BB inventory is starting to run thin based on previous posts here.

I had same issue with BB in Bay Area.
Quite a few of us just bought the 65" VT50 from Paul's for $2,499 including shipping & tax. I highly recommend my sales guy. He has been at Pauls for years and is extremely cooperative and informative. "John Kim"

All stores have been at $1699.98 since then. The web site has been at $1999.98
Need some help. I tried inserting optical audio cable into new tv and the optical outlet on the tv cracked now the cable is loose and won't stay in good. Would you guys just try to crazy glue together or exchange tv? The audio still works cable just is loose now due to crack. Anyone else notice blacks look grainy and buzz from tv with light scenes?
Return it for noted audio / video issues if possible. Also, many credit cards cover accidental damage first 90 days. That would be another option. Crazy glue might void your warranty.

Exchange as soon as you can. Before inventory runs out. Where did you purchase again?
I jumped on the Paul's TV deal today in MA for the 55 inch.
I had a VT25 from back in 2010 and my (now) 3 year old broke it by throwing a toy at the screen late last year, so I'm just replacing it now.
When he said $1497, I broke out my iPhone to see how much I could bring him down but didn't see any deals like this... This includes free delivery tomorrow in time for the SB!
I'm not sure what HuntingBear was gettting at here but I think he's right. Tomorrow, I bet Best Buy brings back that $1599 price like they did last Sunday for the 55" VT50. If so, I'll be getting my Pricematch on.

Are there any coupon codes or anything like that? I would probably get in at that rice instead of the GT50 but I would rather buy from amazon since I've got a few hundred in gift cards already and their return or exchange seems better for someone that doesn't live close to a paulstv. They'll price match if I can show them a coupon code they can verify...

Did you already buy your TV? If not, may as well purchase at the current in-store price on the off chance that you can PM in the next 30 days. Worse comes to worst, $1699 isn't a bad price to pay. Better than not getting one at all.
Just a quick update that I was able to get BB to refund $100 + tax last night now that Paul's deal is back on for $2499. This is the BB in Brentwood, TN and was completely painless. The manager helping me out stated that this price is crazy and would be shocked if it dropped again. I could have saved the hi TN sales tax by purchasing online, but have had nothing but good experiences from my local BB and want to do what I can to keep them around.
thanks for the locally available $1,497 Paul's heads-up on the p55vt50. I bought online two days ago from them at $1,599. Called back and they matched the price. Salesman Seth is awesome. He offered their extended warranty (four years total) $149. I might bite.
Got mine delivered and up on the wall today! Love it...
Now I play the game where I wait for the price to come down below what I paid, but so far $1497 delivered seems like a good price. =)
Is that for the 55 inch? Is there anyway to get that price online if you don't have a local Paul's? Also, I wonder if there is anyway to get Amazon to price match if they don't have an "advertised" coupon discount but instead just enter that save500 at the cart. I've got like $450 of credit I would like to use at amazon but at under $1500 I'll snatch the VT in a second compared to $999 (after coupon) for a 50 inch GT.

The save400 brings it down (55") to $1599 which is a good price, but it sure isn't $1497! :P
Plus that coupon still isn't listed anyway, I would have to explain I was told it over the phone or something and see if amazon would use it when they added to their cart to test...
Appreciate the advice, I scored the $2,499 deal at Paul's late Saturday night, got an email an hour ago that it has shipped. Can't beat the price, includes taxes and shipping. Best Buy had it for $2,899 even if they matched, tax would be 7%. I jumped all over this. Question for you all, should I get an extended warranty and where can I buy that at?
Also should have mentioned, I went with Paul since they are a certified Panasonic reseller. Didn't get the warm fuzzies on East Coast, plus I am in NJ and they would whack me with sales tax.
I was able to exchange my 65vt50 for a new one due to optical audio out being cracked. It was a pain dragging that thing back to the store but worth it. I'm in the southern Cali area and picked up tv from warehouse in chino ca. They were showing they had about 300 left.
