Panasonic VT50 Deals - Page 77

The 55ST50 is now $1649 on Amazon, it used to be around 1299 or something like that. Wonder if it'll come back down.
Awesome, glad to see Paul's dropped the 55" another c-note. Calling Amazon now to get the $100 refund... They already refunded me $78 because their delivery company screwed up (refused to take the TV to "any room" because they incorrectly sent only one person), so this would bring the out of pocket cost down to $1422 for this gorgeous set...

Too bad! Amazon policy is that you get only one price match, so if you use it on the original purchase, you essentially have no further low price guarantee. Unfortunately, but still better than getting through Best Buy and having to borrow a van...

Pulled the trigger last night at BB. First BB store(Riverbank Ca) said they couldn't come close ($2999 + tax) to Pauls price($2499).Went out to car and called second store (Modesto, Ca) and spoke directly to Christine in the Magnolia department. Without hesitation she told me no problem. Total price delivered including tax.....@$2422.00. Also got an extra 3% off for Mr Ebates. Will be delivered on the 6th of March, waiting for wall unit to be built.Worth the ten minute drive accross town.

Why would you have to borrow a van?

While purchasing through Paul's, taxes are still technically being paid. You are effectively just paying a low enough retail so as to end up at the $2499 price after taxes. Just saying.

He just paid a lower pre-tax price.

yeah, i was trying to figure out how he managed to get it below $2499. wouldnt a price match just bring it to paul's price?

BB lowered the sales price to include the taxes and the additional 3% rebate from Mr. Ebates and give me the "out the door" price of $2422.00
Couple of reasons I prefered to purchase at BB rather than Paul's.
1. I am a rewards member so this puts me over the 2500 threshold for Premier silver status.
2. I prefer to make high dollar purchases in person and locally so the money stays at home.
I'm curious, do the Paul's receipts show taxes? Or do they just show the final price?

thats fantastic...i wish i had thought of that, but generally when i try to get something price matched at best buy its more of a headache than its worth.

one more quick question, are u located in a state that actually has a Paul's location?

How do you buy a TV in person at a B&M BB and still get the 3% back from Mr. Rebates?

Mr. Rebates is only 2% at Paul's now, eBates is 2.5%. i guess he mentioned it and they matched it for him, i was amazed myself. BB always gives me a headache when trying to pricematch even if its just 5 bucks on a blu-ray.

i ordered late sunday night, around 11pm est and it shipped today. i got a tracking number but it doesnt look like anything ive ever seen before so i have no way of tracking it...

I'm ready to upgrade from my old faithful 50PZ700U and just need to decide on the 55" or 65" size. My local Best Buy price matched Paul's $2499 price on the 65" with free shipping but that's before tax. I just need to decide if I want to save that tax money and go with Paul's or go with BB. It sounds like people on here have good luck with Paul's so my choice may be obvious.

yeah, i heard good things about pauls as well and the 30 day price match guarantee pretty much sealed the deal for me.

Do you live in Richfield, MN where Best Buy is headquartered? If you want the money to stay local buy from a local independent store.

Best Buy is a publicly owned company, so if the goal is to give profit to the local merchant, then you're paying the shareholders scattered globally. Many big chains will force their local stores to "contribute" to the community in some way through social programs. I have no clue if Best Buy does that, but it could be the case.

Looks like the 55VT50 is gone at Pauls. It no longer lists it for me.
I had a interesting talk with a sales rep at BB last night after returning a open box 65vt50 I purchased. Just before leaving and feeling my pain he stated as of March BB will have a new aggressive policy of PM on online pricing that will be nation wide. No gray areas from store to store. If it's a lower price from a reputable seller they will match it, no more BS within X amount of miles from store. Also, they will be lowering their return policy to 15 Days from 30 days on all purchases.
