Did you mean to type $2299? That's BTV's current price.
Sure did. I just corrected.

Has anyone bought from http://buytvtoday.com/ and can their 2013 VT60 & ZT60 prices be believed?

I don't recall anyone posting to this topic ever mentioning buying from them or even considering it. I sure wouldn't (if, indeed, they even really exist).

They are not even out yet. If you ask me, it is just further evidence that they are not a legitimate dealer, or business for that matter.

there is a reason why Paul won't pricematch these guys. their free shipping isnt really free, they charge $160 for packing and handling and from what ive heard they dont even accept regular credit cards and only wire transfers. i'd steer clear of these guys at all costs.

No offense but the old "if it looks to good to be true" rule applies here big time. In this day and age where one can check out a companies reputation in seconds I can't understand why one would even consider this company. Abe's of Maine is a perfect example of this. Someone was asking recently about them and a quick google search showed they were not a very good company to deal with. One might as well throw their money out the window when dealing with a company that only accepts money transfers wink.gif.

From the BTTV web page:

If you do not want the item you have received, or if you have ordered the wrong item by mistake, you may return the item within 14 days of receipt. However, returns of this nature will be subject to 20 to 30 percent restocking fee and shipping & handling charges will not be refunded.
- If you take advantage of a FREE Shipping promotion for orders over $49, and then would like to return the item, we will gladly accept your return. However, you will be responsible for reimbursing us the original shipping charges that we paid for your order.

So if you bought a $2k plasma it would be a $400 to $600 restocking fee rolleyes.gif.

I just picked up a P55VT50 from Best Buy today for $1459.
After paying uncle Obama and purchasing a four year Geek squad protection plan, the total was $1842.33.
I am very happy with this deal.

Without hesitation she told me no problem. Total price delivered including tax.....@$2422.00. Also got an extra 3% off for Mr Ebates. Will be delivered on the 6th of March, waiting for wall unit to be built.Worth the ten minute drive accross town.

pretty new to the forum, not sure how mr ebates works but doesnt the purchase have to be made online in order for it to apply?

so it seems that only BB has an unlimited price match, is that a true statement?

I have called BB today and i was trying to PM the BTV deal of $1625 and they told me they dont PM so I guess it can only be don in the store and then.

Where they price matching, or just selling it that low?

Went to Paul’s TV Friday night and asked if they had any 55 inch VT50’s in stock. The sales guy said they didn’t but could have one within a few days from their warehouse. I had seen some on this site had been getting the VT50 55 for $1500 on line at Paul’s, but there were no more available, so I figured I’d ask about getting that on-line price. Sure enough, the Paul’s sales rep marked it down to $1499. After some more negotiating, he lowered the price even further, down to $1459. I wanted a protection plan, so out the door after tax the price would have been $1839.87. I put a $100 down on the TV as the sales guy had requested and left.
As it turned out, putting the $100 down on the TV was a great move, because I now had a receipt with a legit price from Paul’s TV. When I came back the next day with my wife to pay for the TV, they said they couldn’t get the VT50 55, but would swing me a nice price on a VT50 65. At this point I felt I was being played, so I decided to try Best Buy.
Later that evening I called our closest Best Buy with a Magnolia store. Over the phone, the best they could do was $1599. Today, I went to a different Best Buy (not a Magnolia store) and they didn’t hesitate on matching Paul’s $1459 price.
So, due to my work schedule, I gotta wait till next Saturday for delivery.
Can’t wait…!
That makes sense. I was curious cause Paul's has been out of the 55VT50's for a few days. With the return locally option of a Best Buy, I'd probably get a 55VT50 too for that price!

i really wish i had tried to get a PM done at best buy, then i could have gone back and matched BTVs $2299 price for the 65". the way things are looking im locked into the $2499 i paid. im still happy about the purchase its just a tad annoying that i could have saved another $200.
on another note, what glasses did everyone get? i can't decide between the panasonic and the 3active...

You can't look at it that way.
Someone is always going to post a better price. I have yet to see a price for the VT50 55" lower than what I got. But in a few days, as the new TV's begin to roll in and stores want to liquidate their inventory’s, I bet a few will beat it.

FYI: my local Paul’s TV had plenty of VT50 65 in the warehouse. In fact, because of the way they jerked me around, the sales guy wanted to make it right with me. He casually mentioned $450 more for the 65 than I was quoted.
Do the math and that is $1459 + $450 totaling $1909...!
Pretty good deal, but I didn't want a 65" TV and by the time I added tax and a $250 protection plan, I'd have been at about $2200-$2300. I just didn't want to spend that much dough.

i ordered it from paul's and its in transit to me right now. i'd have to cancel my order with them and buy it from BestBuy if they did the pricematch. not sure how much of a hassle it would be to cancel my order with pauls at this point.

I am assuming $2299 was before tax and not including a protection plan?

Can you tell me how much the 4 year BB warranty is and do you think it is the same cost for the 65"? Between the stand and the TV I didn't want to spend any more money on Saturday. I have 30 days to decide. Thanks in advance.

Should be ~$299.99. The same plan on the 65VT50 will be more expensive, as the TV is $1000 more. They are based on price tiers.

Went to the BB where i purchased my 65vt50 for 2399 - asked for the 2299 PM (btv) - sales associate said sure, got his manager. Manager said no way they can match btv and said he is familiar with them and they are not legit. He told me I was lucky to get the 2399 because his store has never sold one that low before. I pointed to this forum to show him all the others getting PM from btv...he stated "they are in the Midwest or other states where business is slow, this is South Florida and we have no problem selling these at our sticker price."

What a bummer. He also assured me the 519 for the 5 year warranty is worth it to keep because I will use it. He says even if my image quality looks like its not as good in 4-5 years they will replace with top of the line Panasonic at that time. I asked him what if BB is not around, and he stated "your safe - the protection plan is insured." He also suggested the professional calibration included by itself pays for the protection plan.

Not sure how I feel about all that.

edit - purchase date was 1/30.

Got bb to match the price. $2299 is I think their cost so they basically made nothing. Thanks avs.

The manager also said that in march bb's pm policy is changing. Guess this will be my last major purchase from them.

I believe you are in their pocket for a 100!

Hell no, this is my 3rd Panasonic plasma and I've never had a problem. Warrantys are a waste of money imo.
