Do you mean they had to pay $50 for delivery at time of purchase, or the delivery guys demanded $50 before they would mount and place the TVs? If the former, and it was recent (I don't know how long the current delivery terms have been in place), they didn't get what was promised from BB and I'd be on the phone complaining big time. If the latter, the delivery guys extorted your mother and sister and...well...again, I'd be on the phone. That sucks...I think they got hosed. BTW, I wasn't a Silver Rewards member when I bought my TV either.
My mother was offered a free BB calibration after I discovered that they delivered the wrong TV (it's a long story). The result wasn't as horrible as letting the kids play with the remote, but she did end up paying for another calibration from a different person.
I'm quite curious to see what an "ISF-Certified" TV calibration from BB is going to get me. There are a lot of horror stories about them here...and a few are from people who've actually had them done.
But as I mentioned previously, if I don't like it, I'll change it back to what I'm running now, which is somebody else's calibration settings that they posted and which look pleasing to me. And maybe some day I'll pay some other ISF calibrator to adjust my TV.
