Actually, I just checked, and EE shows a 65vt30 (last year's flagship model) in stock for $2166 (after using coupon code EXPLODE) in stock. I would make sure it was not an open box item before you buy, unless that does not bother you. I have not bought a TV from EE, but bought a Denon 4311ci AVR last January from them and they were great to deal with. Good luck.

Oh I'm not concerned about the price of the VT30. Honestly, I'm not sure who would purchase that now that the VT50 is out. I was just wondering what kind of price you got on yours back when you got it and where you got it from so I can kind of see what I could get the VT50 for this year.

Next tag is a horrible tool for looking up prices on any products.

Amazon just had about a 60 dollar price decrease to 2,900.
Get it back down to that 2,700 range and I'm pulling the trigger

He's looking at the used ones.

How "used" can a set be when the model is only 2 months old, full warranty and all, what nightmare risks am I taking to save 500 bucks?

If you're ok with this.
Item may come repackaged. Front of housing has minor cosmetic imperfection. Minor cosmetic imperfection on top or sides of item. Minor cosmetic imperfection on back of item. TV stand has minor cosmetic imperfection. Missing owner / user manual. Accessories may have cosmetic damage.
Go for it and let us know how you do! Good Luck!

I'm not ok with THAT much cosmetic damage, and if it is missing accessories, I would want a sub-2500 price

Not every single item used is that beat up
And I do know that EE had prices sub 3,000 that weren't used....

Abt has the 65 vt50 for $3,099.

I spoke with someone from EE at the store and they were very surprised at the low cost that their internet division was selling it for considering it is a cost protected TV. Hopefully they'll continue that price when it comes back in stock.

+1
I'm waiting on EE as well, I'm assuming they aren't waiting on "used" products with missing accessories...etc

I also use CamelCamelCamel.com to monitor price changes of items I watch.

For price shopping I used to like PriceGrabber because it was so simple, now it's got a lot of crap on its website. I mostly use Google Shopper now (formerly Froogle). And I miss Bing Cashback because they would give huge cashback (25%-35% on some occasions) if you use the search engine.

I paid 3k from bby. Just walk in and ask what is their best price and counter offer. Just make sure it is during the weekday.

That sounds great, but in Michigan with 6% sales tax, that's $180 extra right off the rip

Ha 6%? You're lucky!

9.875% here in Tennessee frown.gif . I'll probably end up buying my TV from Amazon once the prices drop a little more but it will be sad when we have to start paying sales tax for Amazon purchases starting in 2014 (Tennesseans)

No, not yet. But I placed my order because the sales guy is going on vacation and I don't want
to make a mistake.
I can always cancel if necessary, though I doubt I will.
