Panasonic VT50 Deals - Page 16

Is EE an authorized Panasonic seller?
For those of you who buy online and are an American Airlines AAdvantage member, keep in mind that you can earn lots of miles if you purchase the VT50 (or other such products) from the American Airlines AAdvantage eShopping Mall. Some places will give you 1 mile for every dollar spent (like ABT), while other sellers will give you 4 miles for every dollar spent (like Sears). Moreover, if you have a Citibank AAdvantage card with which to make your purchase, you can rack up 1 mile for every dollar spent on the card. One can easily earn 6000 to more than 12,000 AAdvantage miles by going through the AAdvantage eShopping Mall and buying the VT50. I do that for so many purchases online that I easily earn some 20,000 miles per year just by using the eShopping mall. Note: United has a similar program.

Can anybody comment on the warranty offered by Costco for $99?

They use CPS Consumer Priority Service - I know nothing about them. I bought a plan for my RCA DLP 10 years ago from Repair Master and it was a waste of money.
I looked here: reviews
for information, but I'm still not sure if an extended warranty is crap or not.
I know Best Buy's plan is expensive but good, but they charge too much for the TV (and tax!).
So, if someone else wants to chime in with their experience with warranties, I'm all ears!

That link didn't work, I'd be interested in seeing what it had to say

Pulled the trigger with EE, I can't wait for it to arrive!!!
Where did you see it on their site? When I looked, it didn't show the VT50 at all, only the VT30s.
Can someone please PM the sales rep you guys are working with at EE to get the deal on the 65" VT50
post #459 of 2673
Mine was taken as a pre-order, the units are to arrive withing the next 7-10 days.
I just couldn't pass up the offer of a 65" VT50 with 5 year extended warranty shipped to by door for just a tick over 3K.
My sales rep is David (X156), who will be in tomorrow (7/21) but then out of the office for the next week.

You guys keep saying EE is getting more in in XX number of days and then that day comes and goes and you say they are getting a shipment in XX number of days again. I think they are filling you guys with a bunch of crap. I didn't have a great experience ordering my Denon receiver from them 1.5 years ago...
Yes EE did originally say they were supposed to have it in stock by today but now it's supposedly back ordered for another 7-10 days..
Best Buy's stock is very low on the 65VT50. I wonder when or if it will ever increase. Maybe this year they are keeping a minimum inventory. Makes it really hard to get a good deal. Waiting for Labor Day sale to see what kind of price they will have.

I have been in touch with EE since late June and the date for them to get their shipment in has always been late July, no moving dates as far as I am concerned

Damn! I just saw my cart on Amazon and it says that the price of the VT50 55" increased by roughly $400! Why is this going the opposite direction? I didn't realize that PaulsTV actually brought the price of the 55" down to $1795 a couple of weeks ago. I would have pulled the trigger for an Amazon pricematch. It probably only lasted a few minutes because they went out of stock. Amazon also ran out of the 55" and now have BuySquad selling it on their behalf but the price they are selling it on Amazon is much higher than on their own site ($1723). Don't know anything about the company but the ironic thing is that BuySquad is not one of the merchants listed in Amazon's price matching. I'm waiting for a back to school sale price war on this TV and it's crazy that Amazon price went up.

Checked other sites:
Abe's of Maine is selling it for $1,933.18 with LOYALTY15 coupon and a Free Flat Wall Mount ( Value $149.95 ) with FREEMOUNT coupon. Amazon doesn't PM AOM.
EastCoastTVs is selling it for $1690.50 with 2% off PAYCHECK coupon (good till 7/22/2012 MN). Amazon doesn't PM ECTV

Update!!: Just as I was writing this, I checked the pricing again on Amazon and it's still $2,230 but it's now sold by Cleveland Plasma. And it sometimes swtiches back to Buy Squad. Strange.

BB yesterday "priced match" Amazon for 2924 on the 65VT50 in IL. I had mentioned Cleveland Plasma for 2900 + shipping.

How did they price match Amazon's price of 2924 when Amazon's price (to my knowledge) hasn't been that low. Usually Amazon's price is above 3k and people have just been getting Amazon to price match other store's low prices.
Magnolia in BB in IL sold me the Panasonic 65VT50 yesterday for 2924.00 after I told them that Cleveland Plasma had a 2900.00 + shipping. He looked online yesterday and stated that he would match the Amazon price (2924). They actually sold another 65VT50 at the same time. It was funny becasue the other Magnolia Sales Agent was charging his customer more. I had a BB Sales Person, who then told the Magnolia guy that they he "matched" Amazon at 2924. The delivery date was Thursday, but moved to Friday by use. They do not have any in stock in a store around us.

Wow you had a real moron of a Best Buy sales agent then because that $2924 price at Amazon is for a used TV...unless you are buying a used TV which I highly doubt..

Lucky slip up I guess haha
Yep, That is why the Magnolia Sales Guy was pissed, he just lost a lot of his sale as my BB priced match his customer to my deal. I went in there hoping to get a stand, 4 glasses and 3D BR & 65VT50 for under 5K including tax, it came out much cheaper than the wife expected. I did get 3M & 4M glasses, the Rep. could not tell me the difference other than one weighed 26gr and other 27gr. You know anything else on them?

Much cheaper if you order direct.
65VT50 is showing out of stock at BB. I'm wondering if they will ever have enough stock to negotiate a good price. confused.gif
post #472 of 2673
Looks like stock is low because people are buying TVs for the upcoming Olympics and merchants are taking advantage of it by fixing the price.

I placed an order for a 65vt50 with ElectronicsExpo last Friday, and got an email today stating they were back ordered until Mid August.
So instead I bought from Cleveland Plasma, in stock, delivery next week, and cancelled EE....

Cleveland Plasma has their price and 'in stock' listed on their website.

MID August?
NOW I am concerned, but I didn't receive any email from EE today, and I also placed my order last Friday

What was the cleveland price (including shipping and warranty)
Placed order on Cleveland Plasma about an hour ago. $2,900 + $100 shipping. No tax. Chris called 30 minutes later and said I might get the tv in two days. Couldn't wait any longer. Needed it for the Olympics. FYI, I didn't get the extended warranty, which I usually don't, because if you use a Visa "Signature" card, Visa automatically doubles the warranty. So, in this case, two years total.
I just ordered from Cleveland also. Found that he doesn't "stock" but use Panny Distribution Centers. Ordered yesterday with arrival on Thursday. Luckily Houston is a distribution center so very close. $2900 including delivery.

Got this response from EE:

Panasonic originally told us at the end of this month, but unfortunately they have them on backorder now. So we have to wait until they get them back, for us to get them. They did not provide an actual date to us. Please let me know how you would like to proceed with your order

Thank you and I apologize for the inconvenience

So take this info for what it's worth

On backorder but other places like Cleveland Plasma are having no problems getting them out to customers quickly. Like I have said previously...EE is kind of sketchy to me

Cool..please let us know when you get it and that everything is ok. I'm not saying EE is out to take your money or anything. Just seems like delivery of the VTs has been an issue frown.gif
