Finally bit the bullet. Got my local BB Magnolia to sell it for $2999. Had to pay tax but got them to include next day geek squad delivery, triple reward points, and a decent discount off a Furman power conditioner. All in all pleased with the purchase and customer service. I'll get the magnolia and silver rewards benefits and I'm sitting on my couch watching football the day after I bought it. Awesome TV!!

I'm hoping to pay $2800. + tax from BB, not sure how hard it will be especially with the low supply/ high demand right now.

Panasonic EPP site? where do I go to find this price? Spent the weekend going to all the big box stores around ATL, Brandsmart, Fry's, BB, but by the
time they added all the extra's it was way too much. I just want a price right at 3000 or less. Or I might
go for the E8000, saw both at Brandsmart, both looked really nice....Question....how do I get BB to price match?
Cleveland Plasma ha s a decent price but tax and shipping.....moves price on up.

^^^ Tax only if one is in Ohio........

I purchased a 55VT50 from Best Buy on Sunday. Best price I could find online was $1775 for the 55" and $2900 for the 65". Best Buy did a price search and gave me the 55" for about $1775 so I was very happy. Delivery is Thursday. Today I dropped by to look at the 65" again because I don't want to suffer buyer's remorse. There was a 55" directly above the 65", the size difference was significant, and I decided to ask for a price on the 65". Based on Sunday's experience I was expecting it to come in at $2775 or so. Instead: $3100 (or was it $3199? I forget.). I reluctantly had to pass and will stick with the 55". Now I just checked Amazon, and the 65" has gone up $500 since the weekend, and the 55" about $300.
Anyone else seeing this?

Awesome price, was that $1775 out the door including tax and delivery? I wonder which merchant they PM it with. I PMed with USAppliance and with the WG shipping, Amazon PMed it for $1946, which is actually $1 more than Amazon's historical pricing on the 55". I have a colleague, who's son works for BB and said that he will give me a good price but then I have many credits, gift cards and rewards points that I needed to use with my Amazon Visa card so I declined. Right now the 55" at EE is $1882.53 (coupon code: SPRING5) with WG shipping but I cannot PM anymore as the 30-day window has passed.

Any idea why there are major shortages? Are they going to stop making them or something?

I'm right there with you. I would like to pay no more than $3000 including tax. What price were you quoted? I was quoted $2999 at BrandSmart. Haven't tried BB yet.

I'm sorry if this is covered elsewhere, but what is Panasonic's EPP site and how do you order from it?
Some companies offer Employee Purchase Programs with different companies as a benefit. If your company offers an EPP with Panasonic, then you would be eligible to purchase under that program otherwise you are SOL... You can check your companies intranet or ask your HR dept if you don't know if they offer an EPP.
does EPP charge to ship and tax? If so, how much to ship and what tax %?
i work for a bank in atlanta. spent all day at brandsmart and bestbuy looking at the various tvs AFTER i had already done some research online.

obviously, pannys have the best picture quality and after reading what professional reviewers had to say about plasma v/s led, i was glad i am leaning towards plasma.

no deals at bb for vt50 or any relevant panny models. ditto for the samsung and lg models... no deals.

shop.panasonic.com however offered discounts on all their models.
http://shop.panasonic.com/shop/model/TC-P60GT50 is available for $1949
similarly, 65vt50 was available $2700 and change.

is that good?
i see free shipping at epp
Where do you show the VT50 for $2700? I see it on the Shop Panasonic site for $3699.00.

you have to have epp set through your company that negotiates the discounts. mine is through sparkfly.

I've got a friend who works as a merchandiser for actionlink (he sets up vendor end caps at electronics stores) and i'm 99% certain he can get into panasonics epp. I wonder how possible it would be to take him with me to BB and get them to PM panasonics EPP?
I just recently got a 65vt50 for $3,690 including a pair of Panasonic glasses, tax, and 4 year service plan out the door from BB. I showed them an EE priced email and after an hour of negotiating we finally settled at that price. I went to a different BB a couple of days after and returned the single pair of glasses for ~$86 and just ordered two pairs from Amazon for ~$99. Thank you all of pointing out BB price matches online vendors. It really helped because I wanted an extended SERVICE plan instead of an extended WARRANTY.
What was the price for the TV alone, without tax, etc.?
Shipping is free on TVs through EPP. Sales tax is based on your zip code. My understanding is that price matching the EPP price at retailers is against the EPP agreement...(but who's going to stop you from trying?)
I'm going to guess around $2720 for the tv. Add in $80 for the glasses ($2800) and $600 for the warranty ($3400) and a guessed tax percentage of 8.5% and you end up with end price $3689.

I know that when I went through checkout for the Panny Friends & Family discount, my final price was a little more than $2900. Despite that, I didn't finalize the order, because I'm waiting (I'm in no rush) for EE to get some back in stock so I can earn ~ 6000 AAdvantage miles by ordering through them.
TV alone was $2819, $79 for the glasses, and $500 for the service plan.
I don't know if this is necessarily a deal or not, but I'm a member of Club Panasonic and the club price is $3144.99. I know I've seen better prices in this thread, but this is straight from Panasonic. Just putting it out there.

Nice. Did you talk them down to $500 for the warranty? On their website, it showed $600 for it. Unless the price match perhaps put it into a lower price category? I'm f*(king dying to get this tv already. Especially with Halo 4 almost a month away, I demand it for that!
I'm also so ready to get this TV, probably in a couple of weeks. I just hope I can negotiate a good price. It sounds like there will not be a lot of inventory for the rest of the year and supposedly production is ending soon! I don't know if this will help me get a good price or not.
Don't know anything about them but plasmatv4less has it for $2799.
yeah.. since the price fell within the $2499-$2999 it dropped the service plan down a tier. I think telling them I wanted the service plan upfront helped me negotiate that deal. good luck!

EE priced me at $2670.71 plus $209 for shipping. I honestly think it's better off to go with BB for return purposes and the service plan. There was about a $250 difference in price.
