Panasonic VT50 Deals - Page 26

ya, i'm going to try and negotiate by knowing the cost on the TV. Even with a price match of $2800, they're still making a good amount, especially in comparison to most TVs which are sold right around cost. If all else fails, I'll use adding the warranty for negotiation purposes and probably cancel it afterwards. I know that's a dick move, but I had a really bad experience with my last tv that was covered under warranty by them and almost got screwed out of a replacement and left with a defective tv. It was a very long fiasco that i had to fight and finally they agreed to buy back the set. That's why i have a $1636 gift card there.

Maygit,
Good luck with your negotiating! I printed out the in cart price of $2799 from plasmatv4less even though I'm not sure that will help, it can't hurt. I will start my shopping in about 2 weeks!biggrin.gif

How long do you have in order to cancel their extended plan?

I got a better price than that months ago from BBY, and from reports from here, people have done even better. I also live in CT.

Just got my 55" Panny VT50 w/ shipping and 5 year warranty for $2198.48 total from alltimetvs.com. Got my TV in 7 days even though they forgot to give fedex my phone number to set up a delivery date so the TV was sitting there for 2 days! Only problem with them is I don't think that have a very good return policy unless the unit is defective or damaged. They will initially try and push a 1 year warranty on you for 149.00 or so, but I continued to deny it until they offered 5 years for the same price and I took it. Just wanted to let you guys know!

I figured as much. I'm going to hit Best Buy on Monday and see what kind of deal I can hammer out.

For the VT65, if you have a Discover Card and you have access to the EPP panasonic site, and buy it in October-Dec (online shopping promo), you'll get 5% cashback up to $1500, which is $75. Also, if you go through ShopDiscover, they give 5% cashback on Panasonic.com, which another $138.75 off.

So you're looking at a total of $2561.24 before taxes for a VT65. For me, that's $2772.54 shipped. Not bad.

I PMed with USAppliance and with the WG shipping, Amazon PMed it for $1946, which is actually $1 more than Amazon's historical pricing on the 55". I have a colleague, who's son works for BB and said that he will give me a good price but then I have many credits, gift cards and rewards points that I needed to use with my Amazon Visa card so I declined. Right now the 55" at EE is $1882.53 (coupon code: SPRING5) with WG shipping but I cannot PM anymore as the 30-day window has passed.

Sorry for the delay, but I haven't been reading this thread. The $1779 was excluding sales tax, which adds $125. Delivery was free, so it cost me $1904. I also took the 2-year protection plan.

One of the best prices I'm seeing is about $3100 delivered no tax for the VT 65 from a reputable dealer. If anyone sees a better deal please let me know. I'm looking to see if there is a better final price (tax & shipping included than $3100).

Any deals in Canada? The prices here are ridiculous compared to what you guys are getting. The best price I've seen so far is 2499,99$ before taxes (5% + 9,5%). That's for a 55"!

Looks like only 30 Days now for a full refund. After 30 Days it's prorated. This must be an updated policy when they switched to the geek squad blacktie coverage. On their old PSP (Product Service Plan) i'm pretty sure you had a full year. Glad you asked cuz i would've thought one year.

OK. Got a call about a hour ago from Electronics Expo. They just got some of the Panny 65VT50s in. Bought mine for $2670.71 plus shipping of about $200. If any of you were waiting for them to have them in stock, call now.

That's a good deal - it is $3700 on their website unelss I wen to the wrong electronics expo.

They had a "click for special price" listed for it a week ago when they were out of stock. I had requested the price and they sent me an e-mail showing $2670.71 as their price. I called several times since then checking on availability and they had my #. They called today and honored their price quote. Also got 4 pairs of Panny RF glasses for $170, a Panny DMPBDT220 Blu-Ray for $99.99 and a large Omni articulating mount for $260.56. I've checked prices all over for the past month, and those were the best for those items anywhere. I'm HAPPY! smile.gifbiggrin.gif

You might try calling and asking for their best deal. They used to show the discount if you put it in your cart and put in discount code "explode" or "grandslam", but those don't work anymore. I saw about the discount on this forum originally, so it was worth taking the time to read and follow up.

Got my 65VT50 last thursday. -WOW... even better than expected.
Paid $2700 + tax including free delivery and free removal of old TV (300+lbs. CRT)
and when they offered 24 month free financing I could not say no either.

I've got the Sammy 67A750, which at 4 years old is still excellent. I'm giving that to my brother and getting this Panny. The only question I have? Is this 65vt50 really noticeably superior to the Sammy?
amazon has the 65vt50 for 3144 just go to best buy and they will pricematch amazon

YAWN. This is the problem with the internet / smartphones. We don't know how to make real life conversations and depends on the web eek.gif

What about the B&M and the days of a good ole handshake. Instead, we are sitting by the seat of our pants scoring and eagle eye watching prices.

I bought mine for less than $2700 and after taxes and it was a hair under 3- locally.
Just for schitz and giggles, I was in the area of another large electronics store this week. I went in and asked for a price. $2860 + tax.
Not great but not bad. I did not even ask for a discount or match. Sales rep just gave me that price.

Try an local B&M. Support your local community.
You might be surprised what comes back

Just wanted to let everyone here know about my horrendous customer service experience with AMAZON. I called Amazon to price adjust this TV to a much lower price from Electronics Expo, which was refused. This is after I was told by another of their agents that they can price match by calling electronics expo.

Then I proceeded to tell the agent "Andrew R" (supposedly lead of their rep department) that I wanted to return the TV. He told me that there is a restocking fee for TV returns. I told them that was not the policy when I bought the TV and he told me its recent change and refused to even listen to me or entertain this any further.

After reading return policy online, I still couldn't find any documentation for restocking fees for TV.

I called Amazon again and told them that I can't find anything written about restocking fee and the lady (Carolyn G) told me that there is no restocking fee but there will be a return shipping fee. That was another new one since online it talks about free return shipping on TV. After asking about this return fee, I was told that it was a recent change. I asked how can they change policy on me since I should still be under their old policy...I was told that they can change their policy anytime and pretty much refused to talk about it.

Well I am keeping this TV so I don't have to deal with talking to Amazon customer service again, which is SO professional that you get a different answer from every person you talk to.

I ordered a TCP55VT50 for $1999 from Paul's TV this morning and everything went great. No tax and free white glove delivery. Not an "awesome" price, but I wanted the TV this week so I placed the order. Very professional, friendly AND they are an authorized dealer. I avoided using East Coast ($1,809 on their website but they had a few "add-ons" to the price AND they are not an authorized dealer) and All Time TV basically gave me the same run-around on their $1809 price. Sounds like Paul's may have some decent BF deals this year too which might be good for the TCP65ST50 I want to get... I will wait n' see!

just got back from BB, bought the 65VT50 for 2799.00 plus tax .....total 2994.00 delivered on Thursday, free del, should be at that price, I tried to get them to go lower but they stayed at 2799.00.
2994 out the door, I was tired of waiting.....

I had my iphone with me and with safari had it loaded with 4 different websites plus the AVS posts with what people were paying and I told the salesperson I wanted the same deal so he went back and talked with a manager and came back with the 2799 price and I said sold! It really went pretty easy, no problems, I did try to get a 2860 price but no dice.I'm happy, been looking for since early Sept. BB is in N ATL

I did the same exact thing today smile.gif. My sales tax must be slightly lower than yours because my OTD price was a hair less, but the price of $2799 with free delivery is the same. I printed out the page from plasmatvsforless and brought it with me and they had no trouble price matching. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. Delivery on Saturday. I used my Visa Signature card which is doing 5% cash back on purchases from Best Buy (up to $1500) this quarter so I'll get $75 cash back so I'm pretty happy overall with the deal.
