Any GT50 deals out there? - Page 5

post #121 of 406
The difference in price between the TCP65GT50 and ST50 on Eastcoastvs is now $200. Shows how crazy the demand for the ST50 is.

Not sure if you guys care but I noticed that several of you have gotten a 65GT50 for around $2200-$2400. I just got a 65VT50 for $2450 + tax from Best Buy. I didn't know if anyone would be interested in jumping up to the VT50 since it isn't much more and several people have gotten them at BB for around $2500. I even got a pair of glasses and Avatar 3D thrown in for that price. You can head over to the VT50 deal thread to check out mine and others buying stories.

Is it all best buy selling at that price or do you have to wheel and deal to get that price ?
post #124 of 406
Most of the people getting the deal on the 65VT50 have been emailing local store managers with online ads and getting them to price match. The 65VT50 is listed at $3699 on Amazon and at Best Buy. I think these deals speak more to the ridiculous mark up of the 65VT50 as the flagship model of this years Pannys. Applying the same discount to the 65GT50 would put it at $1750 which I'm sure everyone in this thread would jump on, but how long will we have to wait for that deal?

Hey guys. I am relatively new to the forum and have used it for getting some info on purchasing the TV. I currently see that Amazon offers the 55GT50 for $1349. This to me seems like a really good price for this set, but I wanted to get some input on whether or not this is a price that I should jump on if I want a new TV or if I can possibly expect prices to drop even further?

Can vary from one BB to another. I would read through the VT50 thread to see what is going on.

Fellas, stumbled upon this at lunch today. For anyone that bought a 50'' GT last few weeks, you can now walk away with a free Blu-Ray player (BDT220).

http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&docId=1000861931&linkCode=ur2&pf_rd_i=B00752VLB8&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=1430669302&pf_rd_r=1NJ4521SP8J07PM1W7YG&pf_rd_s=hero-quick-promo&pf_rd_t=201&tag=websearchengi40-20

Offer expires 12/1, so hurry up! I walked into BB, where I picked my TV up yesterday and walked out with a cheaper TV price, lower warranty price, and a free Blu-Ray player.

Just got a great price match at Best Buy B&M on the 60" GT50 for $1,868. Since they were matching against an online site (no tax, no shipping) option..they matched it for an out the door price of $1,868. They tried to calculate the pretax amount and didnt really figure it out (should have just taken 1,868 / 1.092 our tax rate)... but ended up guessing and came up with $1,853 after tax... I was good with saving a few more $$. Same great price, much less concern due to B&M return option locally.

No tax, no shipping, white glove delivery. I think I got a fairly solid deal there. At least much better than I was able to find anywhere else.

Just curious which Paul's did you go to? My closest one is the West LA store. Thx!

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned, but Amazon is having a "Free Blu-ray Player with the Purchase of a Qualifying Panasonic VIERA HDTV" offer, which includes the P50GT50. Amazon sells the TV at $1,139.00 to begin with, which is cheaper than anywhere else I've seen it. I ordered the TV on Sunday, which was before this promotion (and right after their last one), but Amazon was kind enough to let me purchase the free blu ray player after the fact and refund me the amount. Here are the promo details;

You are the second person to mention getting this deal after a previous purchase... and so it would seem less likely to be a fluke. I ordered my P50GT50 on Black Friday. Does getting the disc player free after the fact have anything to do with Amazon's 14-day price guarantee I wonder?

What exactly did you ask for when you called and claimed your prior GT50 purchase?

I'm not sure if it has to do with their price guarantee, but quite simply, I sent them an email stating the following;

"Hi,
I recently placed an order for this Panasonic TV, which I now notice had been part of a "Get a Free Blu-ray Player with the Purchase of a Qualifying Panasonic VIERA HDTV" promotion which includes a free 3D Blu-Ray player with the order, as shown here;

http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&docId=1000861931&linkCode=ur2&pf_rd_i=B00752VLB8&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=1430669302&pf_rd_r=1NJ4521SP8J07PM1W7YG&pf_rd_s=hero-quick-promo&pf_rd_t=201&tag=websearchengi40-20

The TV has shipped already and I've scheduled delivery, but can the promotion still be applied?"

...and I got a long winded response the next morning outlining the details of the promotion (a copy/paste job), but at the end it said;

"However, as an one time exception. I would like to offer you to place a separate order for "3D Blu-Ray player" and let us know the order number, We'll issue a full refund for the amount."

So I placed the order, emailed them my order number and they said the refund would be requested and processed to my credit card. I was surprised that it was that simple. Under my order status it says the refund is currently processing, but I received it in writing from Amazon that I would be, so I think it's safe to say it'll go through. I would say it's worth a shot sending them an email.

I'll give it a shot, thanks so much.

EDIT: I cribbed most of your email, we'll see how it goes.

Not a problem. Good luck!

My email:

Hello,
I recently purchased a Panasonic TC-P50GT50 TV from Amazon, which I've since noticed the product page has added the "Get a Free Blu-ray Player with the Purchase of a Qualifying Panasonic VIERA HDTV" promotion, as shown here:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&docId=1000861931&linkCode=ur2&pf_rd_i=B00752VLB8&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_p=1430669302&pf_rd_r=1NJ4521SP8J07PM1W7YG&pf_rd_s=hero-quick-promo&pf_rd_t=201&tag=websearchengi40-20

My TV has been delivered as scheduled (without any problems I would like to point out, thank you), but I was wondering if the "free blu-ray player" promotion can still be applied?

Thanks for your time and consideration.

Amazon's response (in part):

Thanks for writing to us with your concern regarding the promotional offer for "Panasonic VIERA TC-P50GT50 50-Inch 1080p 600Hz Full HD 3D Plasma TV".

I checked the description of the "Panasonic VIERA TC-P50GT50 50-Inch 1080p 600Hz Full HD 3D Plasma TV" offer, and see that we'll send your promotional Free Blu-ray Player after December 28, 2012.

As long as your order meets all of the terms and conditions for the offer, you'll receive your promotional offer by December 31, 2012. If you don't receive it by then, please let us know using the link below:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/contact-us/pricing-and-promotions.html/

So I'm guessing that english is not this person's native tongue, but I take this to mean they will just go ahead and ship the blu-ray player at the end of the month, no further action on my part unless it doesn't show by the 31st.

Thanks again for the tip!

P55GT just dropped to $1,249 (been holding it in my cart until my 14 days expires), so I fired off an e-mail to Amazon and had a message back confirming my refund in less than 5 minutes.

I tried to get the refund from the price drop but they told me that since I used the 10% promotion I was not entitled to the price match guarantee. After speaking to several people they agreed to to refund $60. The policy or encouraging buyers with promotions and then using that as a reason to void the price match guarantee is

That is not bad business, that is business.

I work for a huge company and if you use a promotional discount that item cannot be price guaranteed.

The fact that they did it for you after you ranted means Amazon is just an outstanding company.

They sold out really quick, or at least the price went back up in a few hours.
post #150 of 406
NJ...I don't want to argue but speaking to people isn't ranting. I think because I was nice about it is the reason they refunded anything. Next...if you are going to use a promotion as the basis for voiding a guarantee then tell people about it so they can make an informed business decision about their purchase.
