Any GT50 deals out there? - Page 6

The fact that they did it for you after you ranted means Amazon is just an outstanding company.

I disagree. I also work for a large company, and we do allow this. If a major competitor has a better price, we will match it, even if you used a coupon. Saying no to this in the consumer electronics business is just silly.

Looking for a deal on a Panasonic 65gt50, I would like to buy one before Christmas but the prices out there have gone up in the last few weeks. If anyone has seen a good deal on the above I would appreciate the input.

So far Amazon is $2499, Pauls has it for $2499 with a 250 gift card. I would like to pay around $2250 if that's possible.

thanks

Picked up the 55gt50 on amazon - 1349 was definitely the cheapest. Thought long and hard about doing the vt50 but the gt at that price to me seems like the better value.

Good decision. I had a 3 year old VT10 I payed so much extra for for the calibration options.
And it's impossible to make it look even as good as an ST30.
Every years models are better and better.

Yeah. The pricing has been frustrating because I couldn't pull the trigger on Black Monday, but ready now. I just need to be patient and wait for Jan/Feb when we'll hopefully see the prices come back down.

I have just noticed that John Lewis in the UK has the TX-P50GT50B in the Sale for £999, couple of hundred quid cheaper than elsewhere, although I have since seen that several online sites have reduced their prices to match them!

I am tempted, although the P50UT50B is also in the Sale for £599, which is mighty tempting...

... as is the Sharp LC-60LE636E for £899, which really is not a lot of money for a lot of TV!

Not that I can really afford any of them, but a grand for the GT50 seems pretty reasonable for the quality that it gives smile.gif

Just ordered a GT60 for $1899 shipped from Amazon. I'm happy with that, considering ST60's are seemingly out of stock everywhere and currently going for $1699 on Amazon.

Stolen from the VT50 thread....

Post over there had a code for a 55VT50 @ Paul's TV. (code is "Save300")

I tried it with a 60GT50 and it didn't work. So I tried a couple other numbers. "Save200" works. The 60GT50 is $1699 shipped when using the code. Free white glove delivery too.

For anyone looking at the 50GT Paul's has that for 1139.99 plus a Save90 coupon for final price of 1049.99. Think I'll pull the trigger on that.

Long time lurker here at AVS. Just sprung for the 50GT50 from Paul's TV. Ordered over the phone and was helped by John Kim from Paul's. Excellent customer service. I can't recommend more.

Man, do I LOVE AVS Forum!

Okay....so I ordered a Panasonic VIERA TC-P60GT50 from Paul's using that "Save200" code and got it for a great price. The question now is....

You can refuse delivery if the set is damaged, etc. My concern is with Plasma TV's and dead spots. What do people recommend doing when the set arrives to make sure there are no screen issues? Obviously I will look for dents and dings.....but for the picture itself....are their certain things to do to make sure there aren't any dead zones?

THANK YOU. I requested delivery on Friday 2/4.

Wanted the P50GT50, called last night and they said the sale was over.
Amazon has it at the same price.
Thet just added it back so you get another $90 off for the 50" and $400 off of the 65"
How's the 55gt50 looking? Looking around to see if there is a PM for my recent amazon order @ $1349
post #168 of 406
Just wanted to comment and say I bought one of these at BB last night and they price matched the $1699 no questions asked. Mine will be delivered on the 3rd. Can't wait!

Recently put a 65VT50 up in the living room, replacing a 60" Samsung LED. The 60" is too big for the bedroom so I'm looking at the 50" GT50 for the bedroom now. The Paul's price with the coupon is the best I've seen and I think I'm going to pull the trigger on this one. Will be good to have a baby brother for the VT50. The LED set just isn't going to cut it anymore after living with the Panny plasma!

Thanks for this! I was trying Save200, then Save100 to no avail. I should have kept going down until one stuck!

Not sure if cap sensitive, but maybe try SAVE400 or SAV400 also.

FYI, thanks to the original poster of the Save200 Paul's coupon. I actually received my Panasonic 60GT50 about ten days ago from Amazon, having paid $1899. At the time, Amazon offered a 14 day price match guarantee, and, to my surprise (since sometimes they don't honor the guarantee for rebates and store specials that are not advertised), they refunded me $200 when I sent them the current Paul's TV price with this coupon code as well as a pdf of my Paul's TV order page showing the price. So, if anyone ordered one of these in the past 14 days from Amazon, you should be due a refund if you click "found a better price" on your order details page and send them the coupon code and current price.smile.gif

Sweet! Is there a coupon code for the 55 gt50? Will save me some bucks from my amazon order.

You might go to Paul's TV and try different codes to see if one works and go from there. I would try the Save200 first and then maybe go down in $25 increments...Save175, Save150, Save125, Save100 and finally Save90. I bet something works.

Save100 worked! Submitted to amazon.

Did you have an email address you sent the PDF of the cart as well?

Flatliner, I just got denied frown.gif

"Hello,

I'm unable to approve your claim because the price is subject to rebate or coupon. Time-limited sales events such as Black Friday, early bird or door buster offers, offers advertised as limited in time or quantity, clearance, liquidation and going-out-of business sales, loyalty program offers, and special promotions such as rebates are ineligible for the Guarantee."

That is what I was told too. I guess it depends on the person you get on the phone.....or email.

Wow, that's weird. It must depend on the specific individual who reviews your request.

What I did was to include a dropbox link to a pdf I created from the Paul's TV online order page (I included the link in the direct response box at the bottom of the online Amazon page) which showed the discount. I also explained in the space given at the bottom of the response page that this coupon was available to everyone and that they could go to Pauls TV website, go through the order process and get the same discount using the coupon code.

You might contact Amazon's customer service, bring to their attention the inequality of their refund policy in this instance and ask why some customers receive the refund while others don't. Perhaps they will change their minds.

Here are the terms of the guarantee at Amazon. Traditionally, I don't believe a "rebate" and a "coupon" are the same thing as a rebate is usually defined as a seller or manufacturer partial refund of the purchase price after the sale. Occasionally, one more recently sees the term "instant rebate" which sort of blurs the line I guess so it really may be about the specific individual at Amazon who is reviewing the policy and making the decision. In this instance it was clearly listed on Paul's TV order page as a coupon and not a rebate, though I guess Amazon will say it's still a "special promotion". Amazon's policy gives them a lot of "outs".

Amazon's Terms & Conditions

The TV Low Price Guarantee (the "Guarantee") applies only to TVs sold and fulfilled by Amazon.com. If you purchase your TV from another retailer (including items sold by third-party sellers on the Amazon.com site), the Guarantee does not apply.

To qualify for the Guarantee, you must first purchase the television sold and fulfilled by Amazon.com and find a lower price from Amazon.com, an eligible competitor's website or that eligible competitor's offer on Amazon.com within 14 days after the Amazon.com ship date. The lower price must remain in effect at the time your Guarantee request is verified by Amazon. Expired offers are not eligible.

The Amazon.com price is the price after any rebates, gift certificates, and promotional discounts have been applied to the item. Costs for comparable shipping and handling will be included in the price comparison.

Competitors' special promotions such as rebates, gift certificates, bundled products and "buy one, get one" offers are not eligible for the Guarantee.

Price difference applies to full cost of the item minus any promotions, and does not include tax.

Time-limited sales events (such as Black Friday, "early bird" or "door buster" offers ), offers advertised as limited in time or quantity, clearance, liquidation and going-out-of business sales, and loyalty program offers are also ineligible for the Guarantee.

The Guarantee applies to the price payable for TVs only. Offers for or including ancillary services (such as financing, installation, or extended warranties) are not covered by the Guarantee.

The competing offer must be currently available in the model, color, and style that is sold by Amazon.com and the competing offer must be in-stock and available for purchase on the competitor's website, in new, unopened condition. Used, returned, open-box and display items are not eligible.

The Guarantee does not apply where the competitor or Amazon.com has made a pricing error or typographical error on an item.

The Guarantee applies to websites only, not brick-and-mortar stores. The website featuring the competing offer must not be an auction site. The competing website must be operated by a U.S. company and must ship products from a U.S. location. A list of online retailers whose offers are eligible for the Guarantee, subject to compliance with other Guarantee terms and conditions, is available here. The Guarantee applies only to retail offers by the retailer operating one of the listed websites, not to offers by third-party sellers appearing on such sites.

Only one unit purchased of an item per customer is eligible for the Guarantee (that is, multiple claims on the same item will not be eligible, regardless of the quantity ordered), and the Guarantee can only be applied once per item, even if a lower-priced offer is subsequently found.

The Guarantee only applies to purchases for personal use. The Guarantee does not apply to purchases for resale or commercial purposes.

If your claim satisfies all of these terms and conditions, we will refund the price difference between our price and the competing offer through the original payment method(s) used for the TV purchase.

We reserve the right to deny claims or to modify these terms at time if the Guarantee is being abused.

Well, to be honest, I like to frequent the smaller "Ma and Pa" type shops so instead of giving HUGE Amazon the business, I would prefer for Paul's to get the business. It's the same price after all and I am in no hurry to get the TV. They have been incredible so far. VERY happy with Paul's!
