So thanks to you guys I ended up with a realy nice new Panny and a new 4 year warranty on it for about $7 out of my pocket....Thanks Guys and Gals.......FriedPiebiggrin.gif

With the "only 7$ out of pocket" comment, I'm betting he had a stockpile of Amazon credit (gift cards, certificates, credit card reward points...something like that)
Im just trying to figure why people are choosing to order to order thru Amazon as to Paul's.
Hey I ordered it from Amazon because I had a $1899 gift card from square trade warranty that covered my LG PZ950 that crapped out....and with the $200 credit you guys showed me from Pauls TV,,,,I put that $200 plus $7 more to get a new 4 year warranty with the Panny.....they would have (square trade) sent me a check if I wanted a check but the gift card with Amazon seemed quicker....been watching all my bowl games on an old panny 27 crt.....no fun....FriedPie

Amazon will match the Paul's coupon too. If you are in an area that will take a while for Paul's to ship to you, it's hard not to beat a few days from amazon.

The 50GT50 seems to be priced at $1,139 everywhere currently. I think it may have previously been down to $1,049. I wonder if it is likely to go lower again between now and Superbowl? New 2013 models are about to be announced. Select Best Buy Magnolia stores have it for $1,139 and don't appear to be willing to go lower. The 50ST50 is now hard to find, but Best Buy may be able to special order for $1,095. I think it had previously been $999. But they do have the 50UT50 still around for $699, which may be the overall best value. The glossy screen doesn't bother me, so do the custom controls and pro settings make the GT that much better?

All Best Buy/Magnolia stores have this at $1139. It is only carried in the Magnolia stores, but you can order at all Best Buy stores nationwide.

True. But just wondering if the price may drop a bit by Superbowl week as sometimes they do.

Just got my 55GT50 on Paul's using SAVE100 code so $1,249.99 out the door with while glove delivery. Don't have an estimated delivery date yet.
Yeah I just ordered a 60GT50 from Paul's. The SAVE200 code worked for me making it $1699, and the 30 day price match guarantee is pretty sweet.
Guys, please post delivery time when you find out from Pauls. Thanks!

1/10/13 Update: Ordered on 1/8/13 at 1:06pm. Being shipped from Denver to Fresno, CA by HomeDirectUSA. It was picked up yesterday (1/9) and status said "In Transit". Estimated delivery date is 1/18. Hoping that is conservative and plan to call local delivery company in advance to secure actual delivery date sooner.

Will keep you posted if interested.

Yea, well the 50" GT50 is what I am thinking about, for a bedroom application. I currently have a 40" Sony XBR in there and can go a iiiiittle bit bigger, but more than 50" is really pushing the room a bit. So with the news about discontinuance of the GT in 2013, I am thinking "buy" the 50 series @ 50" in the GT for the best quality in the 50". I think Panasonic left out guys wanting quality/smaller and left out quality/BIGGER (as in 70"). I know a lot of guys that were looking at both ends of that spectrum.

So I am waiting, as some of you are, for the "ultimate deal" on a P-50GT50.biggrin.gif

So for me the entire process was about 7 days from order to having it.

Amazon has the 50ST50 for $999 + 2% back. I'm open to a Samsung 51 E6500, but they're the same price they were back in like March!

Costco has the 55" UT50 for $799 if you're not size limited. And if I remember the UT50 has the ST50's custom controls just with a hidden button push.

SAVE200 now works for 65GT50 at Paul's. So it's now $2299. I believe you can also get white-glove delivery and no tax. It seems the prices for the 2012 models are falling as the 2013 models are on the horizon.smile.gif
post #233 of 406
Too bad SAVE400 doesn't work. I'd jump on it then. Can't justify paying $2300 for a 65GT50 when the VT50 is only two hundred dollars more.

1/11/13 Update: Called HomeDirectUSA, they now estimate it will be delivered to local carrier on 1/15.

Yeah, I agree, but where are you finding the 65vt50 for 2500? Paul's has it for 2600 w/SAVE400 code. The spread between GT50 and VT50 pricing appears to be larger on the smaller TVs. For the 55", I'm showing best price on the VT at 1699 versus the GT at 1249 (both at Paul's w/ applicable coupons). Has anyone found a 55GT50 from an authorized reseller for anything lower than Paul's?

I agree (actually, you may be able to get 65VT50 for just $100 more at $2399), but like the downward trend of the price movement.biggrin.gif

Best Buy did a follow-up price match for me, taking my price from $2599 down to $2425 for the 65VT50. This was today based on "buytvtoday". I believe someone on the web is listing it as low as $2399.

I just purchased 50" GT50 from BestBuy. I had them price match this deal from Adorama that includes the Panasonic DMP-BDT220 3D Blu-Ray player. Very excited to own this TV set.

ordered mine last night from Pauls. 55GT50. Will post shipping results.
went to best buy magnolia and had them PM 55gt50 @ $1249.99 based on Pauls. However, they didn't match the TOTAL with Sales Tax. They also managed to PM the Sears $29.97. I did also get the $250 4 year warranty, but im considering returning that or at least going to the customer service to have them lower the cost since this best buy is next to a costco where i can get the square trade for $99...

Ordered from Paul's late on Wed Jan 9th.
Tracking indicated Regional delivery picked up on Jan 11th.
Local delivery company is scheduled to receive tv on Wed Jan 16th, and then they will call me to schedule white glove delivery.

The local delivery company called today, Wed 16th, offering tomorrow Thursday 17th as delivery. Does not work for us. As they are in our area on Thursdays or Mondays, we have rescheduled to Monday Jan 21st.

So, if I was more flexible, an order on Jan 9th, would have been delivered on Jan 17th, or 8 days later.
