Connecting system

I just bought Denon 1911 and B&W 685. Using Samsung LED tv and pioneer DVD player.

How about connecting these up as I heard few different schools of thoughts.

Manual said connect DVD to AVR then to tv.
Some said DVD direct to tv as lesser stuffs between them is better.

Which one is correct?

Just connect all your devices through the a/v receiver (with hdmi, of course). Denon is a quality brand and will not degrade the signal being passed through to the tv.
