Hello. Quick question for all you audio buffs. I'm looking to purchase the Sony MDR-DS6500 wireless headphones for viewing movies with 7.1 surround late at night (this is my first post so I can't include a link, but all the specs are on amazon.com). Now, the headset decodes 7.1 dolby and dts through an opitcal-in port, but my logitech Blu ray player only has a digital coaxil out. So my question is, if I run an hdmi from the Blu Ray player to my plasma TV, and then an optical cable from the TV's optical-out to the headphone base's optical-in, will I receive a genuine dts/dolby signal or will the de-coding be lost in translation? If this is not possible, is the only way to receive the surround signal by running an optical cable directly from the BD player to the headphone base? Furthermore has anyone had any experience with this sony headset that would recommend it, or possibly steer me towards another 7.1/5.1 wireless headphone set? Thanks so much for the help guys!!!
