Nice price... Would buy one if it was the 55" at this price. Hopefully prices will drop some more. Also need to go in to the store to check out the differences between the UT vs ST.

Check out D Nice and the other ST50 reviews and then you can make an educated decision ... to buy the ST50 :-)

But what if one doesn't like a matte or semi-matte screen? This is what happens when you put an aggressive anti-reflect filter on the thing. I like my screen glossy and sharp and it seems based on feedback that this year's Panny is more dull. Is there truth to this or is it a wash?

I'm very curious about what feedback where has said this year's Panasonics are "more dull.". Just the opposite.

Just wanted to update the current deal at BB. $899 for a 50" UT50 with an Xbox 360 250Gb (worth $300 MSRP). It's a great deal, especially if you want to turn around and sell the Xbox, but I recommend eBay or Amazon.com because the game stores will not give you much value and cannot accept it as "Unopened."

Sounds like a good to great deal depending on- did you check to see what nib xboxes are going for lately?

Just wondering if anyone has come across any good deals on the UT50 (looking at 50" myself) up here in Canada? I'm jealous of the $799 deals on the set and $899 with an Xbox360 or Blu-ray player. Right now the TV alone is $999 here (no bundle promos), apparently will go on sale for $899 occasionally, and there has been only one $799 sale with very limited quantities.

I've thought about driving down to the states to get one, but then I'd have to pay 6.5% WA sales tax (BC residents not exempt) + duty of 12% HST at the border and possibly environmental fees. Not to mention not having a valid warranty in Canada and returns/exchanges being a massive pain in the ass.

The dollar is within 1.5% of par and yet consumer electronics are still off by this much, frustrating.

Thanks for any tips guys.
