corpkid12, I have mine set up just as you described, ps3,directv going to my avr via HDMI (which has pass through) to my LG pa70g and everything looks great I set my ps3 and directv box to 720p and it seems to be slightly better overall pic. probably because the projector is not up scaling everything. as you can see from the pics I posted the picture is very clear and the image looks better then those pics in person. hope this helps.

Thanks,
I just ordered these this week and they should work, they are DLP-link glasses from monoprice.com. here is a link to them not 100% sure they will work ,but I am giving them a try plus I can always return them. http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=109&cp_id=10909&cs_id=1090903&p_id=9459&seq=1&format=2 I think any dlp-link glasses will work that have active shutter feature. hope this helps

This one works great. Cheap, light weight, Long battery life. I have it since Christmas and charged only once. Perfect for the price, and fast shipping with tracking number. (Not usual from China sellers).

So, looking at the manual if you have a 3D BD player you can watch 3D movies as long as you have the 3D DLP glasses?

Am I reading that right that all I need to watch 3D is a 3D player and glasses?

No, you cannot use a 3D blu ray player, only a PC @ 120Hz can be used to obtain 3D with the PA70G at this time (the conversion boxes do not work either from what has been reported).

Someone mentioned the Best Buy Exclusive LG PA75u. Is the only difference between the PA75u and the PA70g that the PA75u has an antenna/coaxial cable input? Ignoring the Best Buy exclusivity, is it worth it? I am a recent cable cutter, and use Roku 3, PC, and over-the-air HD channels. I also have subscriptions to Hulu Plus and Netflix.

Looks to be the same except for the built in tuner. If you already have an OTA tuner you may want to go with frys when they come on sale for 499.00.

Thanks, your pics look pretty good and 106" is about the size I was thinking of going with. What type of screen are you using?

I have one projector already mitsubishi hc3800 1080 and I very happy with it but I want one for different use .
I want to use for any moment than I want to see a big picture and I want to ask .
if the picture is enough for make me happy or put me nervous for a bad buy when i compare with the other projector.

I'm know than the first with lamp is better picture for sure but I want to know if the lg is watchable.

Fears

Picture to dim over any other
The resolution with the diamond pixel
Is so bad the focus problem?
Is one advantage the wide led color gamut or not noticeable or transform in problem
I do not want the best picture i want a big 100" enjoyable picture.

Cheers

If you are like me, and wanted a cheap LED PJ (399 at fry's) with 30,000 hours of use on it without bulb replacement, small and portable and the highest lumens of the 720p crowd, of 700 lumens, this works. Now, you have to have DARK ROOM to enjoy it, and you have to exchange unit if you get unfocused one (although I think your chances of getting a focused unit is better than 6 months ago), and it is slightly short throw. 8 feet back is 80 inchs, 10 feet back is 100 inch screen size.
It comes with 2 year warranty in USA, and some of the other clones that are 500 lumens have start up focus issues but this model doesn't have that problem. Also, this model has 6 watts of stereo internal sound which is kick ass (easily fills small room), and good contrast ratio of 15,000:1.
I got it for easy on and off anytime, good for gaming (low lag), I don't notice any RBE.
The built in media center is EXCELLENT (avi's, pdf's, txt, mp3' 99 percent of everything I throw at it works when I put it on usb memory stick.

In a way, this pa70g is good for casual use and when you want to bring out the BIG GUNS for special viewing take out the BULB PJ.

Look at Redneck Geeks 41 min youtube review and degamepimp's pictures in this thread and also he has Youtube videos, so you can get a feel for it.

Don't get it for 3D as main PJ, but it does work with PC that can play 3D stuff, but, if you are into regular 3D viewing get something else but ok for once in blue moon.

a few pages back on this thread someone posted that they were in a fry's store that had the lg pa70g and a lamp based projector in it (darken room that is) and they stated they could not see a difference in the two playing the same thing on different screens. the lamp projector was about 3 times the $$ and the lumens on the lamp one was 2-3000 lumens (I will see if I can find the page). I watch movies,,sports ect.. on my in my basement and love it. just saying biggrin.gif

Yeah, if the room is DARK, I don't see too much of a difference between my bulb (2,000lumens) and LG PAG PJ (700lumens) . But if there is light in the room, the LG can get washed out whereas the Bulb based PJ will still look good. The good contrast ratio on the LG gives good color and vibrant.

Another use for the LG is just as 30-40 inch tiny screen use, like hdtv and can use in any room, any wall, and play audio books, or read pdf's. (since it's self contained you don't need anything other than the pa70g with memory stick whereas with other PJ's you need PC or other device hooked up to it.) Or point at ceiling, lying in bed or floor. Since it's so small a PJ, about size of netbook, with easy on and off, you can use it for multipurpose stuff. You can use it during the daytime on small screen sizes of 30/40/50 inchs. And with 30,000 hours life, it's like a hdtv.

I just bought a Panoview Grey Wolf II Manual 92" off Craiglist for $125.00, will this be a good screen for the pa70g?
Other thing I forget to ask

What about of the shadow detail I m very picky with in this matter ,
in the dark scenes yo see detail or lose a lot

In the typical scene of train in casino royal

Or may be in the new skyfall in the introduction scene in the passage.

If you are expecting the PA70G to match the HC3800 (which I have owned as well) you'll be disappointed on most counts.

However this does not mean that if you obtain a solid PA70G that it will fail to impress you over-all.

Here is a link to a 1080p video that I made when I had the PA70G... http://youtu.be/mWhYQNV0mw4

Sorry frown.gif but that is not a good choice for the PA70G.

It will improve black level and help with ambient room light but the PA70G is not really a bright enough unit for a 92" grey screen IMHO.

Aside from that the Grey Wolf screens have some of the worst sheen (sparklies) of any screen out there (rivaling the Inland screens). I had one for a few days and returned it for that exact reason, it was too distracting and made whites and bright colors look dirty.

Thinking of swapping my Pany ST30 with one of these; how does BR look on this projector or other similar 720P LED projectors? I've seen most of the photos posted and they all look great to my untrained eye, but i'm just wondering for my own education and situation. Right now I have two viewing locations: one at 8' and the other at 20'. The wall i'd be using is 11' tall and about 20' wide so i'd like the largest image possible, which is 110" or so right?

Thanks.
it depends on how light controlled the room is. if it's a basement or a room you can get nearly all dark you could go probably up to 150" it just depends on how dark you can get it and how far away you can put the projector. my basement has two window at both ends I cover the one closest to my projector and I have mine projected on 106" screen. I could go bigger ,but this is big enough for me and my seating distance. can't beat it for the price and image quality at this size and i'm comparing mine to my 57" crt rear projection and 51" plasma and this projector is right with them as far as pic. good luck and enjoy.

The table in DTS is a description of the "only in Korea".

biggrin.gif no, and here you have, smile.gif HDD plugged in with the film in DTS via remote service, have changed the region code on the 01, that is, KOREA, and surprise, PA70G can now play movies with sound DTS.

I would be able to do that with this remote?

Keep the Pany for daytime viewing and use the projector for nighttime and Home theater type viewing. The projector will NOT give you anywhere near as crisp an image as the Plasma will. If you are thinking that you will be able to see the Projector screen "jump out" at you during the day like the plasma, you are wrong and will be sadly disappointed.

I would agree with you. Keeping a good daytime hdtv for regular viewing and using a PJ for night use or movie night/game night is how I think about PJ'S. Don't get us wrong, the big screen is awesome but giving up a hdtv in exchange for PJ wouldn't work for me. I don't mine living in the "darkness" a few hours during the day, but making a steady diet of it is too depressing for me. smile.gif

Pa70g and Pb60g dont change nothing, i cant change my Pa70g in Pb60g with this remote control and works. I dont se diferents! But do not want us in this condition my pj, but pa70g its bigger and cooling system its diferent.
If you change the region for corea you can play films whit dts sounds. Its confirmed i traied and works grate.
If my english its understanding a can write in italien languidge. It's tu closer for translate, i dont studing english languige. I know only from films whit PL lektor.
It is only one problem ! If you changing region code for corea you can select only english or corean languidge in menu dont haw more european translations in menu, in evry time you can return in european code region whit european translation on menu but whitout dts suport .

Agreed a TV/projector combo is working great for my family. We have the TV located in the bright living room, and then the PA70G in the light controlled basement. Best of both worlds and provides flexibility. Athough there is a lot of juggling for projector time - it gets used now more than the TV. Between Xbox games, videos and web usage - I end up fighting my kids for projector time to watch movies. The reasonable cost and LED light source seems a good match if kids will used the projector a lot, and other than the light control requirements, it functions mostly like a second very large TV.
For the kids its an absolute NO brainer. HUGE screen in a Mancave vrs Mom and dad with them and telling them to quiet down in the living room. Doesn't matter how crisp the Flat screen is. The bigger than life projector screen would still win even if it was a 640x480 image.
