I have a timing issue in 3D. The background is all jittery. Does anyone know how to fix that issue.

I thought its cause of my supercheap 3D glasses but i found the same effect every now and then when testing the 3D effect of the PA70G.
Thanks for comfirmation that its not cause of my crap glasses.

Not so fast. smile.gif
I got the fx 30 glasses that were talked about in this thread. What did you get?

It could be the glasses, but it could be other things too.

Good question to ask:

All you guys that at one time got 3D to look good on the pa70g, did you get jiddery background stuff?

It could be maybe the int file that was in this thread to be installed on the pc to enable 3d mode.
It could be settings on the 3d stereo program.
It could be bad encoding.
It could be the 3d glasses.
It could be the graphic card.

And there could be other reasons. Who got it to work and can you give info that would be helpful to the guys that don't having it work properly yet.
3d glasses you used that work.
3d software that worked with settings.
pc graphic's card and any settings.
Anything else you learned you had to do to get it to work.
These are alot of "coulds" in your reply^^. Anyway its not worth checking all these "coulds" cause 3D is just too dark with this projector.
The jitter effect was before i installed the inf file. After that i didnt tried 3D. The jitter happend about 1 time per Minute and my 3D glasses are nonames for 15 Euro from China. Maybe it wouldnt be the case with better ones but i wont buy them for this projector.

All the 'this projector cant do 3d anyway' talk really isnt helpful. I find it bright enough. If you can get the room pitch black, it is acceptable.

The question is, HOW do we get it working. I have managed to get mine to go into 3d mode, but I cant get my SainSonic glasses (recommened in this thread) to work. All the different modes (AMD 3DHD, interlaced, etc...) fail at giving any kind of 3d effect (the glasses just flicker few sec). Do I need to try a different player? Or perhaps I should try using the vga port (currently using hdmi straight from my pc).

Sorry to sound rude now but you seem not to be bright enough to read the posts of the last 3 pages. Or in other words to set your stereoscopic player up correctly even with the info provided by me and others in this thread. Your problem occurs when your player is not set up correctly... thats all.

And about brightness:

Couldnt say it better, shorter or easier to understand - so worth quoting sometimes smile.gif

I thought I'd chime in on my experience. I started with an Acer K330 but ended up returning it due to the start up focus issues. I was then going to buy the PA70G and I wanted to buy it locally so it would be easier to to return/exchange if the unit had corner focus issues. I couldn't find the PA70G locally, so I ended up buying the PA75U from Best Buy.

It took 2 exchanges, but the 3rd one is a keeper and doesn't have corner focus issues like the first 2 I tried did. It seems like it must be hit or miss with these regarding the focus issue because my 2nd one had a manufacture date of 3/13 and my 3rd one that I am keeping had a 2/13 manufacture date. I forgot to check the date on the first one I tried.

Anyway, I am now happy with the PA75U and glad I am hopefully done with the exchange process. I have it ceiling mounted and a 100 inch fixed frame screen in a mostly light controlled basement. I have Directv and a PS3 has my video sources. It's been a handful of years since I have had a projector but my previous experience is owning an Infocus X1 and a Panasonic AE900.

Thanks for the insight provided by everyone in this thread!

Congrats on your pa75u PJ!

I'm thinking you should start a BRAND NEW Thread on that unit, since I don't see one yet. Since you bought one, you can in first thread share your experience with it.
How does tv tuner work.
How does built in wifi work.
How are the smart apps.

The pa75u has come into the country since best buy, amazon, newegg is selling it, so OPEN up room , just like there is lg60 forum room and lg 300 room.

Thanks, looking forward to just using it now rather than making sure it works properly. smile.gif

I haven't tried the other stuff much yet. I don't need the tuner so I probably won't connect that since it would be a pain with it mounted already. Wifi connected right away to my home network with no issues on all 3 units I have had. I haven't tried the apps yet since I was more concerned with focus issues initially, and honestly not sure how much I'll use them but I'll at least try them out to see how it works.

Yeah I didn't know if a new thread was necessary since these are basically the same except for a few added features. Sadly, the corner focus issues appear to be the same too.

I can try to answer any questions people have, but I am no expert just a guy who knows enough of the basics to setup a projector in my basement. tongue.gif

Yeah I have seen that, but I had some gift cards plus I wanted to buy locally due to possible exchanges. I am happy and content with what I've got.

Yeah, I had second thoughts about posting what I did. So I deleted the comment. You got a great PJ, and buying it local with best buy gift cards and exchanging it if it was defective is worth some money. And you got a model with tv tuner and wifi and smart apps. Enjoy your PJ. I had hoped you didn't see that post, but you did, sorry about that.

you guys think this is it for LG models for 2013? just added a tuner to the PA70? they already had a PB61U, just re-branded it PB63U same projector. I'm disappointed, I hoping for maybe a full HD by now, it is what it is I guess:eek:

Yes its disappointing. Its the same as with electro or hybrid cars. The technology is there but the big companys hold it back to make more money with oil and gas. As Long as people buy bulb projectors which they are kinda forced to for better picture quality the companys will hold back with LED where they have no afterbuy Business. A friend of me owns an Epson TW3200 for about 6 years now.
He spent more than the amount of 1800$ which the projector costs for the bulb exchanging every year. Now guess where the money is to make by these companys.

And epson for example even told me on phone they are not even in planing stage of producing LED projectors yet. And they are one of the most successful companys.
LED Full HD Home Projectors will come but it will hold back as long as possible or in other words as long as the customers allow them to.

yeah, well there are full LED 1080P projectors but 10K and up...my thinking is, how hard would it be to slap a 1080p chip on a PA70? I don't think established companies like LG, epson, etc won't do it but a new bold company will...for example SEIKI is now selling a 4K tv for 1,200 thru tiger direct, very tempting

Finally got a good looking 3d image that is bright enough! I have an nvidia 660 ti. I made a custom resolution of 1024x576 120hz. Now my aspect ratio is correct and its nice and bright!! Yay!

@rservello

What glasses are you using? and what player/settings? I have tried every setting in stereoscopic player (including software pageflipping with the glasses -> DLP 3D Ready) and I still get nothing. The projector goes into 3d mode (so thats good at least), and the glasses (sainsonic SSZ-200DLW) have a good charge. Have tested several movies (including some sample clips from the stereoscopic player site).

Thinking of sending these glasses back and trying a dif pair...
I got the glasses in this thread.
Thanks, mind sharing where you got them? I see on amazon they have a 2 pack (although I am not sure they are the same model...)

http://www.amazon.com/3DTV-Corp-DLP-LINK-Projectors-Mitsubishi/dp/B004G2VJM6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1366071745&sr=8-1&keywords=dlp2+pro+glasses

*and someone mentioned in the amazon comments that these glasses emit a buzzing sound? I am very sensitive to even slight noise, so how bad is it? Also whats the battery life on these things? Was kinda hoping to get a rechargeable pair..
That's the one. I haven't noticed a buzzing. It uses flat watch batteries. They usually last a considerably longtime. They conserve power by shutting themselves down when not pointed at the screen.

Is the 3D on the LGPA70G acceptable ? good enough for most ?
How about the resolution that is basically cut in half when using 3D on the LGPA70G ?
I have the Nvidia G545 card will that be good enough ? it has the Nvidia 3d feature on it.
I think it looks great.
If you are using an NVidia card I have found that you can also trick the PJ into doing 1920x1080 @ 120hz. Just make a custom profile with 1920x1080 120hz and 32bit color. It works fine. The top band says that its 1280x800@120hz...but games say different wink.gif

Tomb Raider with this setting thinks its 1080i and even gives you all the settings! Which is really nice! I have found that 120hz seems to make the image a LOT brighter too!
Here is a good unboxing video of the PA75U by Newegg and they also demo a little bit of the Smart TV functions towards the end of the video. Best Buy has the PA75U on sale for $699 now...I went in and got a credit for the difference in price I originally paid.

yes, my card too is nvida card too.

I'm trying to find out if we can buy a cheap 20-30 dollar 3d graphics card, just for watching 3d movies, tv shows. Therefore it doesn't have to be a high end gaming 3d card.

Anyone buy a cheap 3d graphics card they are using for the pa70g.

I'm also trying to figure out the "exact software and settings to use" for the different brands ati and nvidia. So we can say for ati cards use these settings and for nvidia cards use these other settings. it could be filter problem, or hard ware decoding problem, etc.

It would be nice to have simple cheap solution for this like :
1) these 3d glasses work with the 70g
2) this cheap 20-30 dollar 3d graphics card works with the 70g
3) these settings work and files work together with that card and 3d glasses.

Wow thats really cool! Has anyone else experienced this? I wonder if the projector will burn out faster running in 120hz mode all the time?

And I just placed my order for two of those "3DTV Corp DLP-LINK 3D" you recommended. Will have them on friday, hopefully they will work and I can send these sainsonic ones back.

On a side note, does anyone know what the 'high altitude' mode does? I live in Colorado (6000ft), so according to the manual I need to have this feature turned on, but it doesnt say what it does (other than making the fan louder).

Honestly, for $400...I will gladly replace it sooner. With such a huge bulb life to begin with, even if it, logically, halved it's life. It would still be fine once I'm ready to upgrade to the 1080p version when it eventually comes out.

Also something I discovered was that with "Stereoscopic Player" I was getting frames where the 3D would just fail for a frame or two. I went into the settings and Hardware decoding is disabled by default for some reason. After I unchecked that, I didn't have any of those flicker problems.
Hmm cool tip. where exactly is the "hardware decoding" option? I am looking in File -> Settings ->Playback Options where I have viewing method set to Software Pageflipping and Glasses control set to DLP 3D Ready Encoding. Im a little confused by the section at the bottom of this screen, where it says "Prefered Viewing method"... does this override the above "Viewing Method"?
