Thanks for taking the time to post the info and videos! It will be interesting to find over time, if any glitches or issues are found. Such as the prior aspect ratio issue or problems staying if focus etc. Hopefully most of those sort of problems found in the earlier generation projectors (LG and others) will be a thing of the past. If I can get a decent brightness and focus in my light control basement, without any weird issues, then seems like could be a nice projector for my usage.
Yes its better for me
If you dont have a projector yet its a good coice to buy the pa70g
But whrn you have a hw300 its also good for example its like
Iphone 4 and 4s both are good - 4s is a little bit better but iphone 4
Is good enough
Sry i cant test 3D
Its a little bit difficult to make a good VS. video because both projectors
react with one remote - i can control both proj. with one LG remote
and my right hand is broken so is difficult
But i hope i could help you guys a little bit with my videos
From what I could tell in vid 5, the Hw300y has much better black levels
No offense to DJPAUL, but there is no way to tell from these videos, even in the relative sense. most of the offensive 'black levels' I'm seeing in these videos are due to blooming in the video capture rather than black levels. The newer projector appears to be significantly brighter (at least as configured in vid5) and causing much more blooming into adjacent areas. There also appears to be a bit of overlap overlap between the projected areas (either that or he's got a defective projector that has a very pronounced and defined light spill pattern on bright scenes at the bottom of the projection). An apples-tp-apples would require some level of calibration and baseline brightness... the black level should be measured at the same foot-lamberts. no way to really tell from these videos... very thankful nonetheless.
thanks for posting, I am not looking to get this projector cause I need one with a tuner, but the fact that it seems to have a throw ratio is an issue with me, I was looking to get the PB601U, not as bright but a bit brighter than my 300T which is enough for me. but again thanks for posting the videos, hope to see more:)
Both are exactly similar in loudness eco/bright but the pa70g has a litle whistle (i dont know the english word)
And thats a little bit annoying
No its not worth
If you wont a new proj. Go buy the pb60g with 500 lumes its 100-200€
Cheaper as the pa70g and a little bit better as the hw300t but if you say
The hw300 is good enough for you ist also a good choice
I will ask again-is this a pico chip?(diamond shaped pixels ,witch is really just the grid turned a 1/8 from normal )
eatmeat, I don't think he understands your question, I know what your talking about, but if you never heard of diamond shaped pixels I'd be confused too. maybe if you upload a closeup pic of the pixels. but I don't think TI would design a whole new chip for these projectors.
