New Polk Surroundbar Coming?

Has anyone heard if Polk is in the works of releasing a better soundbar? Something above the 6000.

A polks audio rep came into our store 3 weeks ago to demo the Polk surroundbar 500 CHT which retails for $999. It's a 7 speaker component soundbar that requires a amp/receiver. Using ADA, it recreates surround sound. It's their product that is supposed to compete with the bose 1sr in both price and performance. My take on it was that the polk had a very small sweet spot, requiring you to be seated centered in front if the middle of the bar. But when you are in the sweet spot, its surround sound abilities clearly beats the bose 1sr.

I don't really "get" sound bars that aren't self amplified and to that end I don't see them competing against the Bose SR 1.

I am mostly interested in a powered type soundbar. Any rumors?

All they have to do to beat Bose is keep the price at $999.99.

I would like the 6000 system and give it bluetooth, 8" woofer or bigger, 2 optic inputs, and upgrade the sound quality / Surround effect, More speakers in the sound bar. Also some sort of microphone set up would be nice. Dont care about HDMI imputs. I would rather sent the video signal directly to the TV for better picture. Most tv's now have multiple HDMI inputs anyway.

When Polk does something like this I will sell the Boston Acoustics and buy the Polk

I sent an email to Polk asking the same question. They replied that they do have some larger surround bars in the works but will not be available for at least a few months.
