Cable Co. Should replace TV it just takes a little while for the wheels to get rolling, stay in touch with the supervisor also I would follow up with a letter to the KMA GM and also a letter to the corp. Office. Be prepared they will expect you to give them the damaged TV in exchange for the replacement.

Your right. I should have said "no exposed glass".
Thanks for the correction.

Even then, there is not enough force to chip the glass.

Where did you get the idea that it was a cut bit of wire which hit the glass?

The cable company finally got back to me yesterday. They will have a check for the full amount of the set by next week. The cable company is doing it right and me and my family are very happy.

Now the only problem left is they that left out the tax on the amount of the television.

If the set was six months to a year old I wouldn't care about the tax. But the TV was 2 weeks old when it got hit and I think that the tax should be included with the cost to get the replacement.

I left him a message and awaiting a call back from the supervisor to discuss it further.

Good to hear your cable company is being the man. I hope you get the taxes also. Are you going to get the same TV?

Yes we would like to get the same set if we can. Haven't checked if they're still in stock yet.

If not, once you get that check you will be a free agent (lol) and can move up to the 2012 E series or shop other brands.

What about the "damaged" set? Are they taking it or letting you keep it?
If you can keep it... there's your sales tax (plus more).

I doubt it is coming out of the cable companies pocket, but through their insurance carrier. If it was a new car that was totaled, they would take possession of the total car and give you a check for full replacement value. Thirty-two states require car insurance companies to pay for the sales tax after you replace your crashed vehicle with a new or used one, but even then they often conveniently leave it out until they are sued for it.
Then they take the totaled car to a salvage auction and recoup what the can. They also can offer you to keep the damaged car with a lesser payout, to do what you wish.
I would think the insurance carrier would let you keep the TV and still pay full replacement value, but will need to be sued for the tax. Hopefully, they will see it your way and pay the tax as well.

Hopefully the cheque they send you is over what you paid for it, i believe the cost on almost all the samsung sets went up recently because of their new pricing plans.

Congrats on getting them to send you the cash. Ask them to send another cheque to cover the taxes and you should be good to go!

If you are worried about taxes, you could buy online, most online retailers won't charge tax unless you live in their state.

Good luck!
