I have not been able to find a thread on this tv and was curious what the difference is between this and the 8000? Both are new models and there is only a $300 difference between the two. Thoughts?
From what I can tell the main difference is Pro dimming on the 7500 vs. Ultimate dimming on the 8000. The 8000 has a different stand too! I think that the 8000 also has a qwerty keyboard on the back of the remote. There is a thread on the

I don't know if it is worth it, but I bought the 55" 7500 series. The SmartTV is cool but I use a laptop or Touchpad when I need to get on the internet so I don't really have a use for the keyboard, at least not yet.

I was told dimming. However I wouldn't think it would be a huge difference. Like you, not finding many threads. I'm looking for custome calibrations. My old Sony 52XBR4 had miles of threads on calibrations. And my picture ended up supurb. Hoping for same hear on the Samsung.
I'm eying the 60" model also...pay the difference in exchange for my 55D8000. I was curious to know if there's that much of a difference between pro & ultimate dimming. I guess at some point they'll merge the es7500 & es8000.
The 7500 is the bridge between the 7000 and 8000. Pro to ultimate dimming is just the amount of sections the tv breaks down into for sectional dimming. Ultimate has more grids of dimming. Major difference, maybe. Would you recognize on something smaller then a 60 inch. Probably not. But for the price of 55 inch I went with the 7500 on sale and couldn't be happier.
Would you say that "Ultimate Dimming" is worth the extra 300?
