Issues to watch for on replacment Epson 8700UB?

I'm getting a warranty replacement from Epson on my 8700UB, which I bought new in January, due to the issue where the projector is displaying a pink line across the bottom of the screen.

I'm assuming, unfortunately, that I'm going to get a refurbished unit from Epson as a replacement, which is due to arrive tomorrow.

I just wanted to see if anyone had any ideas on things to check (other than the pink line) to make sure that the replacement is functioning properly.

Anyone have thoughts on this?

Thanks!

Convergence, Convergence, Convergence...

IRIS functioning normally?
Color appears to calibrate normally?

Any strange noises, strange smells, etc...

That is all I can think of, there is probably more.

Thanks. Those are all good things to look for. I probably won't get the projector put up until tomorrow, so I'll see how it goes. Not 100% confident based on some of the posts that I've seen about the warranty replacements.

How do you check for convergence? What is it I'm looking for?

How would I know if the iris is functioning normally?

Do these still come with an extra bulb? They were initially, but I'm seeing no mention of that anywhere.

Thanks for responses.

I checked for convergence using the Disney Calibration Blu-Ray and didn't see any issues.

My replacement did come with a lamp already installed listed as having 0 hours.

As far as I can tell, everything on mine looks good (maybe they've gotten better at Refurbing?). The only thing I've really noticed is that it seems a bit louder (fan noise) than the one I sent back, but not so much as to make an issue out of.
