So, before, my Sony KDF55E2000 LCD tv was shutting off every minute after it was turning on, with 3 blinking red LED lights and a message to replace the lamp. I took the TV apart and dusted it out with a paint brush and canned air, then took out the bulb, with intentions of dusting off the lamp housing, reseating it and seeing if that helped. I ended up taking out the bulb, and completely refurbishing it

Looks almost new now ^_^
before, it was so dusty, dull and had scorch marks that it looked like galvanized steel
I took out the bulb, dusted it out with Que tips, then cleaned it more with alcohol, then applied chrome polish with a microfiber cloth, then cleaned out any oils from my hand with alcohol and a que tip, then dusted out the que tip particles with canned air. Wasn't even expecting it to work :3

Not bad looking for over 8,000 hours of use =]

My current theater setup, not the best lol :3
The tv is literally now 5 times brighter than it was, and it's been on all night without shutting off. I think I fixed it ^_^
