TWC - Old DVR & new remote = can't get all functions

Thread Starter
Eventually, I can usually get a computer device or component working. But that is before I ran into good 'ole Time-Warner.
I've had their service for about 5 years and mostly it has been ok even though they keep bumping the cost.
So, now, I have finally worn out the remote for the cable box (Motorola DCH3416) as finger nails have finally cut through the silicone plastic buttons.
I took the old remote to the local store front and picked up a new one, looks the same a 1056B... But it is not or TWC changed firmware or programed differently.
In a nut shell, everything works except DVR controls. I no longer can use the Start |Stop | FFWD | Pause | Rewind that all worked on the previous remote.

I went back to the storefront and the nice lady told me to use the big arrow keys. Well I can fast forward but no way to stop or rewind or pause.

Doe any one know how to fix this problem?
Thanks in advance.

If all else fails, you could do a free test of a $10 Philips 7-Device remote, described here?

Get at Walmart store, return w/in 90 days if no joy... free trial period?

Did you setup your new Motorola Universal Remote to work properly with your make/model TV? If not that may be part of your problem.

I'd go back to the TWC location, take back the remote, and tell them you need one that is compatible with the model specific DVR you have. Tell them the same as you told us why. Short of getting a compatible remote, you may want to consider getting a different DVR, which may be newer and have more storage space, not to mention working with the remote they want to give you.
