Respected Zoyd!
Why in your color checker palette in GCD_targets v8.xlsx.zip in measured table not taken into account Y [cd/m2] for all colors?
Mistake?
yes, thank you. Attached version fixed, please trash previous version.

Which calculation? I don't understand the question.
in your table list:
1) color targets
2) gamma target
3) calculation
4) worksheet

All,

as you know I have not been very active lately and I will not be active either for the next few weeks, as work is taking over my life

however I am still planing on finishing this disk.

meanwhile if there is any comments please let me know.

You can change gamma on tab 1.
Not work button pop-up menu.
Why pattrens 10% area rather than 12% area - recommendations THX?
Signature at the bottom patterns prevents the calibration plasmas.

Good to have expand the color checker patterns.

Pop-up menus will be included, but just not yet.
10% was what was agreed early in the thread - not sure what the difference really would be either?
I find it hard to believe that the signature at the bottom will give you inaccurate results when calibrating - I included these as I find them invaluable when navigating through saturation and luminance sweeps.

I had recently learned from the professional (THX 2) these data.
It is important for plasma.
I have LED - this is why I am not particularly worried about.
Professionals (THX/ISF) hide the information, and laugh at the fans!

Valuable information for free, and worth the money they do not want to give.
They've got probably the law of omerta.

Demand much? Whether we use 10 or 12% window size is irrelevant so we chose 10% (close to accupel generator size).

Which additional colors would you add and why?

Are you worried about image retention from the annotation? That can happen with any fixed pattern so follow common sense usage.
requirements THX for calibration plazm - 12%(private information onto a closed NDA) (I invented it does not I do not care I do not have a plasma).

I wrote about the inscription verbatim quote from the professional.
"Major label can be placed plasma configuration"

"Which additional colors would you add and why?"
I do not know.
But I think that they need to expand because the films are used:
greyscale - 10-90
colors - 30-80

The idea with the color checker is not to try and quantify all film(video) levels but to have a selection of "memory" colors (1-5) and other key gamut points (6-12) so as to weight the most important sub-set of the gamut more heavily than the standard calibration points if your display has a non-linear CMS. Displays like plasmas and LCD which do not have well separated primaries will always have some level of non-linearity.

that is, it will be enough

1) Why not be used patterns in the form of pictures in JPEG (RGB->YCbCr 4:4:4 or 4:2:0 or lossless JPEG)?
2) for LED TV can use fields patterns?

1: bluray players does very rarely show picture files correctly (see Smackrabbit research on this subject.
2: as far as I am aware use windows on LED sets, fields is only for front projectors and LCD.
if you create a 12% patterns with APL what should be APL - 10% or 15% or 20% or another?

if you want that big size patterns the APL would very for each pattern.
What do I use patterns to calibrate my LED Samsung UE55B7000?
why THX recommends that for the plasma 12% patterns?

I propose to use YCbCr 4:4:4 - player Pioneer,Samsung correctly - look http://www.hometheaterhifi.com/blu-r...s-reviews.html

How to count APL for each pattern?

I want to do for yourself only 75/75 RGBYCMW and greyscale with 12% patterns!

What should be APL background full field on LED so as not to trigger ABL ?

Only 25% or can be 50% or any?

A better way to APL = 60 cd/m2 (50% of the 120 cd/m2)?

And for 12% patterns what should be APL?

I have some time this weekend so I am updating a bit. hopefully by tomorrow there should be a release with some extra misc patterns/pictures (thanks zoyd) and also some simple popup navigation. Adobe Encore is s*% for this, so its very basic.
