Why the results of the calibration of the 50 luma/75 sat is better than of the 75 luma/75 sat on color checker ?

50 luma/75 sat - deltaE 1994/2000 - 1.14-1.15 average, 0.65-0.56 min, 1.83-2.21 max
75 luma/75 sat - deltaE 1994/2000 - 1.23-1.28 average, 0.31-0.28 min, 2.15-2.58 max

TV - LED SAMSUNG UE55B7000
^^^ The differences between those results are so insignificant that its not worth worrying about.

This happens on my iconbit 3D mediaplayer.
The Avchd disk has no problem.
Thanks for putting effort in this disk

hmm I dont have this problem on the players I have tried on - Anyone else who have this problem? I will see if I can find anything

Thanks for the reply.
I will gladly use this disk to calibrate CMS (gray scale to smile.gif)

I have the newest firmware on my iconbit XDS73D but it skipped from 0ire to 100ire immediately and does that with all the other patterns too.

Thanks

I suspect that your player skip to the last chapter point when pressing next, the reason I think it work for you on the AVC709 disk is that (I Think) that each IRE level is encoded as a separate video where the GCD disk is encoded with chapter points - does it work when navigating using the pop-up menu? and does it work when pressing next on "some" of the basic patterns?

Next or next chapter always goes right to the last pattern on every pattern selection as i recal in memory.

Right now i have no time for further testing so when I have I shall revert to second last firmware to see if the problem still exist.

Anyone has the same problem here with any of he new 3D mediaplayers like xstreamer?

Thanks

So I calibrated my gt50 using the apl grey scale patterns on this disk, and there's a huge difference at 30 ire to the results I had using avshd apl patterns. On this disk red and green are at 110 % and blue is at 90 on the 30% apl pattern, as opposed to near flat at 30% on the avs hd disk. The after calibration using this disk has blue being very dominant in the low end. Which disk is more accurate for grey scale calibration? I'm really confused. Oh and I'm using calman if anyone wants to know.

Is it only the 30ire? or below as well?
I think its only 30 ire. My plasma only has a two point grey scale calibration, so when I calibrate with the 30 ire pattern on this disk it causes everything below it to be really blue. I'm just surprised by the difference and don't know which one is correct.

I will check and verify the pattern. What meter are you using?
I'm using a display 2 to calibrate my set, but that isn't the problem. The 30 ire apl pattern on this disk is visibly more red than the 30 ire apl small pattern on the avs 709 disk. Maybe its the abl circuitry in my gt50 that's causing the problem?

interisting

I have verified the pattern and video stream and the RGB values is as expected. could I get you to check the 1%APL window and also the 10% windows just to check the RGB values ignore the light output.
So after checking the patterns it appears that the apl 1 and 10% windows have 10% more red and 10% less blue than the regular black surround windows. What gives? I'm really confused as to which pattern I should be using for calibration of my gt50
post #406 of 631
The patterns RGB content does not change, your display is reacting to APL. You should use the 10%window/22% APL patterns on you plasma. However, if your D2 is not corrected using a spectro your grayscale will be off at any APL.
Is the 10 % APL pattern the one that is 22% constant apl for avoiding the tv's ABL? Someone please clarify. I have a PN51D6500 going to be getting the D3 pro in the future. Will there be a how to written on using all the patterns , and things to look for like the refrence pictures that are included on the disk.
yes, use the 10% APL set for both grayscale and color calibration for your plasma. The APL is designed to be both below the ABL limit and in the range of long-term average levels. I recommend using the 75% Luminance/75% Saturation patterns to calibrate your CMS if the 6500 has one.

b4.3.11 the latest beta version of the disk in AVCHD (This need burning to a DVD) format is avchd

the latest test version with pop-up menus in Blu-Ray (This need burning to a BD) format is here b4.3.11

Just a quick guide to what format to chose:
Use the Blu-Ray version if you wish to burn to a Blu-Ray disk (BD25 or DB50) - use this format if your blu-ray player dont support 1080p/24fps via AVCHD (reports suggest that panasonic players dont)

Use the AVCHD in when burning to a DVD but blu ray playback
fix list:
fixed so default button on grayscale for 10%APL
Fixed popup for 10%APL Gamma POPup
Added Fields
fixed menu problem with navigation of field patterns
known bugs:

attached is the xyY targets for all patterns. Big thanks to Zoyd for his big work in creating this disk.

Thanks to Tom Huffman and alluringreality & dr1394 for helping with utility's to make this possible

The link for the AVCHD version on this first page is actually showing up as 4.3.9 when downloaded and burning it to a DVD confirms that it doesn't have the changes made in 4.3.10 and 4.3.11. Is this a error in the link on the first page or intentional?

Anyone there know of any free way to host a file with a size up to 2gb for free?
I know dropbox can but they have a limit on download activity and blocked my public files.

New host is sorted for the disk see first post for download link Thank You dr1934 for letting me use your ftp server.

just a few comments development is not stopped just busy with my new job, however there is a quick updste on new plans.

the following plans are:

Patterns from 90% to 109% in 1% increments (for all pattern sizes) -This would work well with the new contrast tool in CalMAN 5
Add patters to detect problems with 24fps playback
MAYBE remove the 1% window APL section? - any comments on that, does anyone use these patterns?

I have added 90 to 109% white - this is to use with calman

Added 3 moving bar patterns (23.976 & 29.97 and 50 fps)this will help highlight kidder problems
