It has all required patterns, but the sequence is not optimised for calman yet

Forgot to reply to your earlier question - yes, I would remove the 1% window set, there is no need for this pattern.

hi!
whould it be difficult to include saturation sweeps in jpg format? (calmans own dpg pattern generators uses jpg on their patterns and sweep patterns is missing on older units).(otherwise i have to change colorspace when using video based patterns( RGB Low)...and switch back to still mode/picture colorspace RGB High)...otherwise it will be wrong..)

More or less you will have to skip a few patterns, but it's only a few. It's more with calman you will have to navigate a bit more

Id like to use the 10% grayscale patterns from this disc to calibrate my newer panasonic plasma. In my reading it seems 10% is a pretty reliable size for that application, and Im glad you guys have spent the time on these patterns.

Im going to use my new Oppo 103 blu-ray player as the generator, so can I just burn the AVCHD pattern on a DVD-R and go to town, or does it need to be the blu-ray version on a BD-R?

I also had problem with the Blu-Ray version.

When I investigated the directory structure on the disc I found that the STREAM directory was empty, but all files were actually on the disc. If I remember correctly the BDMV and CERTIFICATE folders are repeated in the BDMV folder. Solution is to use only these two sub folders and recreate the disc.

(Maybe it is easier to understand what is wrong if you compare folder structure with previous version of the GCD disc)


How to build a new disc or ISO file with ImgBurn

Use “Ez-Mode Picker” and select “Write files/folders to disc” or “Create image file from files/folders” if you want an ISO file.

Drag the correct BDMV and CERTIFICATE folders into the larger window below Source.

Select Mode1/2048, UDF 2.50 under “Options” and label UDF: GCDb4_3_13 under “Labels”

Start the Build process

The disk as it is works very well with chromapure, you are only required to skip a few patterns however to answer your question smile.gif I would say around a month, but no guarantees, I should have an alpha release ready tomorrow but this is only for calman, focus was put on calman due to the very different pattern sequence.

The actual patterns is the same, so the result will be accurate with the current disk.

I have complied a list of what I belive will be the filal pattern list.
GCDb5_0_0.xlsx 16k .xlsx file

a filnal release with all patterns are not likly to be within the next month or so

any thing I have missed?

To calibrate color using this disc and HCFR with a iD2 colorimeter on a 2011 Panny GT30,do I use 75% amp.100% saturation color pattern?

Or do I use 75% saturation 100%amp color patterns....

I plan on doing a calibration with avs709 sm apl greyscale patterns and sm color 75% apl color,but I was going to do another one as well with this GCD disc to see which results i like best,but I was just curious on which color patterns I would need on my panny since It only has a Two point adjustments.

I have a question, do al versions give the same image on screen? I assume that is the case, but then why the seperate BD version? I mean, a BD burnable is expensive, and don't all BD players play AVCHD?

the project have been put tempary on hold due to a very heavy workload.

However it will be done! just done want to put an ETA on it smile.gif

Using HCFR and GCD which is the most sure fire way to set my color on my Panny GT30 since it only has color and tint control?

I got the white balance/grayscale nice and linear using the 10% pattern on a calibration i did last night,but iam still confused on which color patterns to use using HCFR.

100/100 amp/sat or 75/100 amp/sat....they give me a different reading maybe a point off one way or the other.I just want to use the pattern that many use that works well with HCFR....Thanks.
