CableCard losing channels

I got Comcast to upgrade me to Infinity in December. Installed an STB for one set and a cable card in another. All good until this week when the cable card set has begun to intermittantly fail to tune channels above 200, fine on 2-200. I pulled the card and allowed to reset and did later see that I was back in business, but should I be suspicious of low signal strength or is Comcast more likely doing some tinkering? I do know that later this month or shortly we are going full digital as they have sent out notices regarding converters for those who have aold analog sets.

Call up Comcast and have them re-pair the card for your account first. If that doesn't work get a Service Call.

That sounds like a good plan. Much appreciate your speedy input.

More than likely ComCast is using switched digital video technology and thus the cable card doesn't know what channel QAM to tune in. There are tuning adapters which work with TiVo but for a TV you will most likely need a cable box for that tv also.

No SDV from them in my area apparently (not yet anyway). Have re-set the card and so far so good.
