Has anyone had any luck trading in HD-DVD's at Best Buy for the $5 coupon, toward a Blu-ray?

YMMV of course, but many people have had success trading in HDDVD (particularly the Combo's)

I've heard it's YMMV as well, but I traded in 4 HD DVDs (2 Combos, 2 Regular) just yesterday and they were taken with absolutely no problem.

The nice clerk even chatted with me about them for a second.

She said... "Oooh, you're trading in some of those HD movies! I guess you can't really find players for these anymore."

I lamented how I thought the red cases were prettier while she rang-up the trade in. As I was trading an HD DVD copy of 300, she offered some advice by telling me about the 300/Troy/Alexander Blu-ray triple feature release they had.

Will the coupon work with any blu-ray regardless of the price? In the first post it says it has to be $9.99.

$9.99 and higher.

In case anyone was interested, according to the official AVS review, the newer 2011 40th Anniversary ed. of Clockwork Orange appears to use the same transfer as the older 2007 edition (which is still $4.99 w/trade-in at BB... 'til 5-12-12 anyway). So looks like the 2007 disc is a keeper for me.

I've never had any problems trading in DVDs at Best Buy. last time, she didn't even look at them. traded stuff like Hudson Hawk, old Jackie Chan movies, Yankees World Series highlights, etc. stuff that FYE stores won't even give you a dollar for. last time I picked up:
Men In Black II
Happy Gilmore
Natural Born Killers/True Romance [2 discs in one]
Good Will Hunting
Scarface
