It's a wash.

IMHO, Anchor Bay is better at de-interlacing while the QDeo has an edge with scaling and noise-reduction.

BUT....it really depends on the OEM's implementation. There has been more than one example of a manufacturer slapping a video processor into a unit to fill a marketing "checkbox" without fully supporting the processor.

FWIW, I have used both in my chain and I think most folks would be very happy with either one. As an example, the Oppo BDP-83 and BDP-93 Blu Ray players are considered "reference" players and ace all tests of video processing. The -83 used the Anchor Bay chip while the -93 uses the Qdeo. Good luck finding a review that is critical of the video performance from either one.
