Samsung UN60EH6000 $1399 at Frys (local stores)

Great deal on the new Samsung 60" 2012 EH6000 model at Frys (in store only). I just paid $1799 thru amazon and I'm loving it so far (pretty much everyone else has it for $1799 right now too). Direct-lit (full-array) LED with great black levels, uniform screen, and nice styling (narrow edge bezel). Really wish I lived near a Frys, we'll see if amazon will price match for me :-)

This has a rather thick cabinet by today's standards, right?

Thick compared to edge lit LEDs, but not so bad for full-array LEDs. And the width of the bezel around the edge is 2nd to none on full-array LEDs from what i've seen.

Sony's xbr-hx929 is full array & only a fraction of the width of this eh series models from samsung. I wish samsung could get it right, not that thick is so bad, no1 watches their hdtvs from the side or the back.

From what I've read here and talking to a Samsung rep I've gathered "Direct LED" or "DLED" is not the same as full array; it's actually cheaper to produce than edge LED and uses fewer diodes across the span of the panel than a true full array set does, e.g. Sharp sets and the XBR, hence the lower price. IMO they still look pretty good, though.

How does this model compare to the Sharp LC-60C6400U?

FYI just about everyone has dropped the price on this from $1799 to $1599 today (amazon, bestbuy, sears, etc)

Thank you for the heads up. I just picked up one. I've had $1460 in rewards zone point so just paid the difference. It was still marked at $1799. They had to do a price change.

Samsung is offering a limited time sale this week, via Authorized Resellers, on a number of the EH models including the 60" EH6000 for under $1600. Which is about $200 less than what it usually sells for.

Yeah I saw these in stores too for that price. At first I thought it was a mistake, but then I saw it in the ad. Seems like a pretty good deal for a basic 60" LED tv.

Wow tempting price. I last posted in this forum about being frustrated and not pulling the trigger on the Sharp 70" 632 when Costco's in-store price was significantly cheaper than online. Frys.com still shows this at $1599 with shipping unavailable. Do they have a delivery option if I go in-store and want to buy? There's no way I can get it home otherwise without the hassle of renting a truck.

wow! local Frys has plenty of them & I'm seriously considering this set, especially since an owner here said it had better pq than his un55d7000.

OK called and found out it's $50 delivery within 20 miles of Renton. Not bad at all. Will go check it out after work with wife.

Damn! Now i'm feeling dumb for ordering from Amazon two weeks ago and I already burned up my one time price guarantee to get from $1799 down to $1599.

Went to Fry's to view some sets and the UN60EH6000 was listed for a smokin' price of $999! Needless to say it is now mounted on my wall.
