Does anyone know if this model is the same as the LG pa6500? I just received an ad from BJs for an LG 50 pa5500 for $599 and I can't find any info on this model.

Google it - you will at least find a LG Product brochure.
Per the PDF, it IS a 1080p panel - no idea how it might differ than the 6500, but sounds like quite a bargain at $600!!
