Everyone should use fatwallet dot com as their portal, (after logging in of course) and if you haven't joined do so. I'm getting $120 back on the 65" model

I think you are talking about Tiger Direct 6% rebate through fatwallet. But it seems the deal for $1999 for 65ST50 was dead at Tiger Direct and the price now is $2599 .

Yes but fatwallet has Paul's too I believe. Always good to check. And TD might do another promotion.

They do, only 2%, not 6% though. TD's $1999 - 6% was a good deal. I am hoping it is coming back.

BTW, have you received your TV? How did the shipping/delivery turn out?

I'm curious as well. Did TigerDirect come through with their shipping/ delivery and were you satisfied? I'll have to look up at their return/ exchange policy and see if they're anywhere as good as Amazon as well.

Hi guys,

I ordered my ST50 from Amazon last Friday morning and now almost 4 days later it still shows "Not yet Shipped".
Is this normal? However it also shows (since the day I ordered) that the expected delivery is between this Thursday & Saturday.
Now I'm wondering if this date is wrong or to expect a call from someone suddenly saying the item will be here Thursday ..

Never ordered a TV from amazon so not sure how they handle this ..

can you share your experience?

Ya. I ordered my 65" gt50 yesterday and I was able to schedule an appointment for thurs. morning for delivery. I also got a confirmation email that it shipped yesterday. Maybe their is an inventory issue. I think I got lucky since it must have been stocked and at a nearby Ca facility, but I would have expected some kind of notification by now if I were you.

I called them today and was directed to another department which is said to handle large item shipments.
After 4.5 days it hasn't even shipped yet and the CSR confirmed that. She said it's "likely" will ship today and she's not sure when the delivery will be frown.gif
She said it needs to first arrive at a nearby delivery center .. anyway I didn't get a real answer and still not sure when amazon will deliver mine ..

Had my 50" delivered today (was ordered Friday thru Amazon). The Pilot delivery "guys" were almost two hours late after the promised 9am-12 delivery window. The delivery guys were a couple of young (teens-20s) guys and one of them carried the box in to the house by himself as the other one sat in the Budget rent-a-truck.
Had the paperwork ready to sign as soon as he dropped the box, but had no problems with uncrating it to check functionality.
Slightly less than what I would consider "white glove" shipping, but all's well that ends well I suppose.
First impressions are that the anti-glare filter is almost imperceptible, but I will reserve judgment until I get it up on the wall when I get back home.

Termite . . . May be time to go up the chain a vit and ask for a CSR supervisor . . . Unheard of to not get a specific delivery day and morning or afternoon delivery window from Amazon. I would call back and keep asking up the chain until I got a commitment. The first CSR yu get is just for all general deliveries (like a dog bowl or wrench). They have a special section of CSRs for big item delivery you have to ask up the CSRmchain to to get. Every first call get you the lowest level common CSR off of a script sheet delivery answer. You need large item delivery sectin to deal with your problem. You shuld have a day and time of delivery At the time of your online order with Amazon. All bets,are off if they are delivering on a mountain in the Hindu Kush. Just my recommendation.

Well Amazon just updated the status on my orders page to "Shipped" and put a delivery estimate of Friday. That's just 2 days. Let's see smile.gif

So my 60ST50 is looking great. As far as Paul's TV delivering on everything they said, 100% happy here. John Kim was great to work with and since purchased another TV from him which should arrive this week. Delivery service was Home Direct. Quick shipping and good communication. At the price I paid I am very satisfied.

So Im now more than 2 hours past my delivery window which was 2-6pm no call from the driver i did a "live chat" with AIT and they said they contacted the terminal and the driver was in traffic, should be here by 7:40 well past now. Now AIT chat can't reach the terminal.

Wow. Is AIT the worst service ever? This sucks I could have actually worked today.

Paul's promised on a rating site to NOT use AIT anymore . . . Because of customer complaints . . . So much for tusting Paul's little over a week to go back on that promise.

Actually it was Tiger Direct, not Paul's.

And I have ordered tons of stuff from them with never once a problem. But always UPS or USPS delivered.

AIT is the worst of the worst . . . That is why Paul's recently decided to drop ait altogether. (and it looks like they have kept their new promise not to use AIT). But as consumers, we do not get to choose the shipper contracted, like Dave's big ticket item from Tiger Direct. Sorry for you Dave, and I masonry for Tiger Direct--it is embarrassing for them too, and they have no desire,for you to be treated this way.

I'm planning on pulling the trigger on the 60 ST50 in late September. As a first time plasma buyer, do you gents have any thoughts on whether we're getting to the low end of the price spectrum on the ST50, or do you think it could go lower than the $1499 deals that I'm seeing on Paul's? I'm hoping that it might even go lower, but at any rate I will be getting one in September. I'm not sure when the new 2013 models drop and how much/how quickly that impacts pricing.

Generally, Panasonic spools down production at the end of the calendar year or the first of.the new year, shows new models at,CEMA in January, and starts delivery of new plasmas end of March or so. What you are looking at is probably a labor day sale or Black Friday, or December Christmas sale if to go any lower. But, keep watch, about any weekend,,someone with overstock may go lower for a,few days. hDTV sales across the board have been lower this year. Just keep watch on this thread a couple of weeks before you are ready to buy.

Thanks for the sympathy, guys. So the update is after 30 minutes bouncing around AIT customer service (which is an online chat, not a phone number) and the local delivery company that is subcontracted, apparently the driver returned the truck at 11pm last night with 4 items not delivered. He never called the customers to inform them that he wasn't coming and is supposedly in "big trouble"
Delivery rescheduled for tommorrow night now at 8pm on the dot. Not a window.

Also it is apparently only "lobby delivery" as I live in an apt bldg in NYC. So I guess all I can do is open the box to visually inspect it but won't be able to check it powered on.

Since it was free shipping and obviously the local carrier's fault, I don't know what Tiger Direct can do. Hopefully they like Paul's will switch carriers

Take an extension cord to the lobby for a quick power check after they open it for you to check for breakag of,or scratches on the glass. Tip the concierge to get you some help getting it to your appt.

The Panasonic ST50 uses a full 3-prong ground plug.

What is this $100 price match thing from paul's tv? Could somebody link me? I couldn't find it on amazon... Also sadly I just did a pre-checkout just to see shipping cost for Amazon and even with free shipping, I now get taxed!!! eek.gif Ohhh Texas... why.. mad.gif. No tax amazon is gone now lol... rolleyes.gif
