at work so will have to do that later... I had read about 3 pages back. but it got quite confusing.. since I was going backwards :\.

Edit: All I see is shipping charge.. and as I've stated there was no shipping charge applied from Amazon.. so what shipping charge/"white glove" delivery are you guys talking about? Cuz I haven't seen that option on Amazon either...

The standard shipping on amazon is what they consider "white glove" delivery, which basically means they will bring the unit into your home, unbox it and check it to make sure it works. If the place you price match to does not offer a similar service, amazon will add $100 to the price match quote.Paul's does (as of monday when I ordered my tv) a comparable service as a free upgrade right now, so amazon matched the price at Paul's for me. Just call the regular customer service line at amazon and you want to be transferred to the large tv dept.

I will add that I was very pleased with ceva (the delivery company). They were right on time, handled the box nicely (the box was not all beat up), and put together the stand and set it up for me. Very nice.

Oh.. damn.. I did not know that... Cuz when i had bought the tv the guy jsut dropped it off, had me sign and left... Given it was raining and he came late but still.. :\. If i'd known that than I could of saved $100 and paid $750 insteasd of $850! frown.gif Oh well.. Thanks for the info by the way. I had just re-read it and thank god you explained it cuz i still was at lost... Know a good 3d active shutter glasses that could work for st30 and st50 by the way?

Panasonic 3D glasses changed from IR for the 2011 models (ST30) to bluetooth for the 2012 models (ST50) so the glasses are incompatable between those two.
So you will need different model 3D glasses for ST30 vs ST50.

I just bought the samsung ones for $20 or so at fry's. Amazon has them for like $17, but I was excited and wanted to check it out. I think they work on the st/gt/vt 30's too. They work just fine for me. The only gripe i hear about them is that they let in light from the side, But I will mostly be watching 3d stuff at night so these were fine.

edit: Looks like the Samsung ones only work on the 2012 plasmas, sorry about the mis-information

The Samsung 3D glasses are all bluetooth too even the under $20 model - they are compatable with the 2012 Panasonic 3D sets that use bluetooth, but again NOT with the 2012 IR models like the ST30.
There are just no 3D glasses that do both infared and bluetooth, its one or the other...

Got mine tonight. All shipping drama aside this is simply the best PQ I have ever seen in my home. And I have owned 3 well regarded Pjs and an old mits diamond RVPTV

Delivery went smooth but believe it or not, with AIT and the free shipping I was NOT allowed to even open the box to inspect the set before signing! Luckily the set was perfect but I talked to the local shipper on the phone 3x and even after their screwup two days before, at that shipping level I was not allowed to even open the box let alone plug it in.
Luckily it was perfect. If the price is similar I would do amazon in the future.
I am in an amazon tax state and not one for tiger direct.
And they had the $500 off and 6% flashback through fatwallet.

For $1880 for the 65" it was worth rolling the dice. But i DID get lucky

Just wanted to post an update here. Amazon finally delivered my TV and I was pleasently surprised by the 2 PILOT guys who did the delivery.
Very professional, very thorough and did exactly what they were supposed to do and more!
They moved the TV to an upstairs room, even assembled the TV stand and setup the TV!! And the whole thing they did with no fuss and was cheerful the whole time.
According to their own paperwork they were not supposed to assemble the TV stand etc. but they did that anyway and I didn't complain smile.gif
Finally we went thru their checklist and I initial everything and off they went. I was very happy to tip these guys!!

I ordered through Amazon and had my 65" delivered by CEVA today and it went very well. They slowly lowered from truck to ground and rolled it as far as they could with a hand truck. Then there are a couple of steps leading to the front door, so the two guys carried it in from there and set it down in the hardwood foyer to take their shoes off before proceeding to the carpet. Then I took the box lid off and left the TV in, uncovering it just enough to inspect the screen and plug it in. They were very willing to keep going and unpack it and mount it for me, but I'm very picky and prefer to do those things myself, so I declined. They also would have taken away the packaging, but suggested it's better to hold on to it for the time being just in case (I agree). I know there have been complaints about what Amazon offers not really being white glove shipping, but this definitely was. It's hit or miss I guess whether or not guys will do their job.

Reports on Amazon CEVA deliveries almost always are solid; Pilot (like I got three times) was 3x a joke on me . . . Problem is, with Amazon, just depends on who they contract with in your area. Glad you had a great and true white glove experience!

So I actually placed the order through Amazon for a 55" instead of 60" like I had originally planned to buy. Looks like it will fit the room a bit better. Amazon matched Paul's price at $1,249 and it is scheduled to be here in two days! Also picked up other items to go with it, but that's outside the scope of this thread, I guess (Panny DMP-BDT320 Blue-ray/DVD player, along with other cool stuff to run all this new gear!). I can't wait for this to get here. My wife and I are building a media console that is really looking fantastic, and so I'm all pumped to put this together.

So totally lovIng the set but like with DLP for me, I see slight RBE on high contrast scenes if I move my eyes fast. Not as bad as DLP but still there for me

If by RBE you mean rainbow effect, you may actually see something else with you new plasma. Rainbow effect only happens with DLP device using a color wheel, not plasmas or LCDs (see http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-6029_7-6405175-1.html).

I got my 65" ST50 yesterday. havent had a chance to turn it on yet and probably wont for a while cause its going in my basement, which is not finished yet. here is a picture of it compared to my 52" Sharp LCD i have upstairs.

the technical explanation of what I am actually seeing might vary but just like with the people posting in the above thread, it is the same end result. On a high contast scene like a bright white object against black if I suddenly shift my eyes I see a rainbow like prism effect of colors. It is nowhere near as pronounced as DLP was for me which could border on unwatchable but it is the same effect to my eyes.

I really really want to get one of the 60" used ones from amazon that have minor imperfections on the casing for only $1256, but I am scared b/c there is no warranty on those. I guess I could get a 1 year square trade warranty for $45.

Has anybody ever bought used from amazon?
