I didn't wait, I got Amazon to pricematch the other place. They charged me $50 for the delivery though, came to a total of 2047..

amazon charges me tax in texas, so i just bought it from US Appliance. It says on Panny's website that they're a authorized dealer (ABC is the parent company), and I bought the 5 yr ST warranty from costco too. No white glove delivery but thats not a huge deal.

Not bad. I wonder why they charged you only $50 for white glove shipping as it's usually $100. I think you lucked out


Update: I don't know how I missed this the first time but we are getting an additional 2% credit back after 35 days which will be credited back directly to our Amazon account. This is approx. $40 which will bring down the price of the set to $1957 and yours to $2007. Sweet.

Update 2: If you are using an Amazon Visa reward card (which I had just signed up and subsequently used for this purchase) you will get an additional 3% or another $58 off the total price. This now makes it $1899 out the door for me.

For any potential buyers out there- Shopdiscover is offering 5% cash back on all internet purchases until 12/31 so this might be an option for you if you don't have an Amazon reward card. Another option is if you have the City Simplicity Card you may be eligible to receive a 10% statement credit for all Amazon.com purchases until 12/31/12. Unfortunately this is a targeted offer for current card holders so if you have a Simplicity card check your e-mails for this offer where you can sign up to take advantage of it.

What has been the lowest price on the 55" ST50 on Amazon? Right now it's $1,147. I'm seriously considering returning my 50" replacement because of its IR and screen uniformity issues for the bigger 55 incher. Let's see if I get lucky and land a non-buzzer with little to none IR issues.

However, if you have a Fry's nearby, they have the 55" ST50 on sale at $999 this week. Picked one up for my parents on Saturday and it looks fantastic.

^^^^ Get Amazon to price match frys and avoid the sales tax as well as the self delivery hassle. You also get the 30 day price matching guarantee if in case the price goes down on or around black friday.

Amazon Customer Service told me that the period you have with them if you find a lower price is 14 days from when they ship the TV... I also thought it was 30 days but that's what I was told by phone. Now I'm confused.

Does Amazon not charge anything for shipping at all on your purchase?

Just checked Amazon TV Low Price Guarantee policy and this is true. Also, sales events like Black Friday are ineligible for the low price guarantee. Meh.

I called Amazon and they wouldn't price match to Frys :-( Anyone else have any luck?

Not if you're buying directly from them. They usually charge $100 for shipping if you're price matching them with a different company as you did but if you'd like- you can contact them (and if you get a friendly CSR) and ask them to honor the amazon price of $1997 instead. Let them know that you'd have preferred to buy from them anyways and that the price came down immediately after you completed the purchase. It should hopefully work and it might let you get your $50 refunded back to you. It won't hurt to try. The other step you can take is cancelling the whole order and placing another one right away with Amazon's direct $1997 price offer. This will depend if your credit card can take the hit as Iam sure it might take a while for the refund to process through back to you. Again, all this depends on how bad you want that $50 back

You're right but this is still a great deal anyways especially with the 2% credit and even more so if you're using one of the reward cards that I mentioned in my previous post.

Did the CSR say why because Amazon does price match Fry's as mentioned in their website here. You might have to try them again and speak to a different person to get them to agree. Maybe try even more than once.

This is my 3rd flat panel from the same salesman/store in the last 2-1/2 years along with Blu-ray player, TV stand and sound bar. I've also sent him 2 or 3 other sales.

I went from 37 to 42 and now the 50. I'm pretty sure I'm done. Perfect size for room and distance.

The ST50 was on sale for $999 and he knocked another $125 off for me. He's actually given me some off every purchase I've made even if the item was on sale.

For those that are looking for a decent BD Player to compliment their recent ST addition to the family- Best buy has the Panasonic DMP-BDT220 for $79.99 before taxes. Even after taxes (86.47 here in Phoenix) that's the best deal this year even beating amazon's offer by about $2 when they were running that $25 credit a short time ago when i purchased mine. This is one of the best BD players this year earning an editor's choice from both Cnet and Home Theatre Mag. Incredibly- I haven't even opened mine since I received it which speaks volumes about my pure laziness or incredible trust and belief that I have in Amazon. Either way it'll get a huge unveiling when I receive my 65ST50 this fri

I was wondering if it would be worth it to go with the 60" over the 55". $1600 is sorta my limit. I see on Amazon the 60" is $1598 and the 55" is $1147. I was thinking if i went with the 55" i could use the money and get a receiver and speakers.

I don't know if this is a national promotion but I just got a text from Redbox saying that all Blu ray movies are running for 99 cents till Nov, 7th here in Phoenix. I'm picking up a couple to test out the new set when it gets delivered tomorrow. Perfect timing.

A little off topic but can anyone who's received their ST50s already tell me if you can see a lot of pixel noise/ dithering when you're right up close to the screen? Iam seeing a lot and am wondering if this is normal. Avatar on blu ray looked really good while The Raid: Redemption BD was completely un watchable for me. Same for some OTA channels that I tried. I'm just wondering if you guys have been experiencing this as well. I've been using the cnet recommended settings so far.
