Panasonic ST50 Deals - Page 21

Yes please, can we stick to ST50 only? Right now it seems almost like the 55" model is the better deal. I'm really disappointed with this year's BF deals so far. Keeping an eye on Amazon.

Oh and I saw this detailed chart that made me almost want to save up for the GT because it rates the lag half the ST model frown.gif

Hmmm.. I wonder where they got those numbers. After spending hours researching the ST50, I've seen the input lag on game mode tested anywhere between 16ms to 30ms, but nowhere near 66ms. And people have also claimed that the GT50 and VT50 both have higher lag than the ST50. If only the manufacturers would publish this information and we could stop playing this annoying guessing game.

Sorry..........Amazon.
$1,149.99 @ Amazon is a great deal for this TV. This is the best price I've seen for this set on Amazon since I started keeping track before the summer. Going to see if BB will price match it today so that I can eat Trukey in front of my first plasma ever!

That is unless you guys think it will soon drop in price...

EDIT: Come to think of it BB even if price match would charge the 7% tax right?? So that would bring it up to $1,230.49

In my mind the $80 difference is worth it to know that I can pick it up immediately and return it w/out having to ship wink.gif

Is Paul's out of the 65ST50? I'm not seeing it online.
Perhaps Amazon's price drop for the 55ST50 means one for the 50ST50 is coming. If it even got close to $800 I'd exceed my budget and buy one in a heartbeat. Wishful thinking on my part I suppose.
I dont anticipate that kind of a dramatic price drop unless Panasonic were to get out of the Plasma game. The UT50 is still retailing for 800, so I would expect to pay 1099 for the ST50 at best

The P50ST50 has been $998 all week but I don't think it will go down much more which means I'll have to save up for a few weeks. Unfortunately, the P50U50's 2 HDMI ports are not enough (really I'd like 4 ports but I can make 3 work).

So here is my story. I went to BB after work to buy the 55st50 if they would price match amazon. BB had it for 1300 and Amazon for 1150. To my surprise they said they would match w/out much of a question. The only problem turned out to be they didn't have it in stock.

Further research by associate showed that they couldn't even order one. He showed me his computer screen and it said unavailable in red. I guess they are on back order bc they are so popular!? Again to my surprise associate called manager over to see if they could work something out w/ the GT model and the manager told me she would sell it to me for 1375 which is not a bad deal at all.

After about 30 min of me thinking about it, knowing that the GT was not in stock and would take a week (I was pumped to walk out of there w a set today) I passed on the GT. When I got home I FINALLY (after about 5 months of torture) ordered the ST on Amazon (1149.99 free ship, no tax) which they claim will be here no later than Dec 4.

Here is hoping that the super saving shipping from Amazon will give me a date and more importantly time so I can be home.

I just ordered the 50ST50. For TVs that ship with what Amazon calls "enhanced delivery", Amazon uses different shipping carriers that offer white glove delivery service. They'll bring your TV in, unpack it, and set it up to make sure it works. And the best part: YOU get to schedule the delivery. When I checked out Amazon listed my delivery date as Nov. 27. But I got an email from the carrier and was able to schedule for Nov. 26 between 8 and 11 A.M. Monday can't come soon enough!

If you're interested in the current sale price and don't want to wait a few weeks, Amazon currently has 0% financing for 24 months on the Amazon Store Card (on qualifying TVs, which include any Panasonic plasmas I was looking at).

We applied for the card and bought our ST50 in the same day. We're going to pay down most of the balance instantly, but hey, if you can be responsible with a credit card, you've got 2 years to pay it off interest free.

I'm not sure that's the same delivery I chose. The one that had a time and date charged me $80 whereas the super savings 5~8 business days was free. Should I call them and change this so I don't have to sit at home for days or carry a 55" tv by myself?

I just realized that the free enhanced shipping may only apply to prime members. As for what delivery to choose, it's totally up to you. Is it worth it to you to have a delivery window you can choose yourself?

I'm not Prime and I definitely got free enhanced / "white glove" delivery. I believe that's supposed to be free on all TVs over 48". I would definitely contact Amazon. That would make me very nervous having that go through Standard shipping.

Edit: Hmm, they say free on "most" TVs over 48".

The promotion on Amazon states that it is good until 11-24. I think the 55" ST-50 for $1150 is a good deal, but I was going to see if cyber Monday resulted in a better deal. Does anyone have any insider information or advise?
I plan on buying the 55ST50 very soon, most likely during Black Friday/Cyber Monday. Does Amazon accept returns for issues mentioned in the ST50 thread, i.e. buzzing, few dead pixels, visible white popping on certain content, etc or would I have to order from BB for that option. Just for peace of mind, the Scheduled Delivery offered by Amazon is the Free Enhanced Delivery, right?

Yes to the enhanced/scheduled. Go check out the ST50 thread in the plasma displays section for more info on returns. There are quite a few people with returns and sometimes multiple returns to Amazon. That's one of the reasons I felt so comfortable ordering from there.

The Amazon deal is gone, unfortunately, but FYI the 55GT50 is now at $1349--seems like a great deal on that set.

EDIT: The 55ST50 deal seems to have returned. Good deals on both ST and GT.

Yes back now but this morning 55ST50 was gone from Amazon (unexpectedly).
I was bummed, having just settled on it.
Yes back now on Amazon - bought it!! Got it for the $1149 it has been this week.

Paul's also offers free "white glove delivery". I would expect it to be the same service as Amazon's.

...not sure how you did pricewise at Pauls but I believe Amazon $1149 deal is still available on the 55st50

Just in case, what is Amazon HDTV return policy? 30days? from when, delivery date, shipping date, or order?
Somehow I could not find the info over there. I put off delivery til next week, but they shipped I think.

(also I was wondering per the BB case below does the Holiday extend the return date?)

You're looking for THIS one.

The gift cards are crappy and it's at a bunch of stores you'd never care about, ie, Pots and Pans, Rock Canyon Leather, watches... all junk.

I was in the West LA store and they will NOT fold the $250 back into discounting the price. Then again, this sort of thing always depends on who you get and how their day is going.
Wow...looks like I sat on the 65 st50 for too long...Amazon has a $200+ increased price, less rewards back, and 15day vs 30 day price match...I'm wondering whether to pull the trigger now, or whether to give it another 1.5 weeks (need it by the 22nd)...I'm wondering whether the increase in price is due to Best Buy not being able to keep up with its stock?

Sorry guys...just venting outloud to see if anyone else is in my predicament

Got my 55ST50 from BB for $1024.99 they priced matched the Panasonic EPP price. When I got there the sales rep said they were sold out of them but after checking stock they had 1 left. When I got home and opened that puppy up I noticed the built month and year--- November 2012--- talk about brand new!!!! Also i guess right now when you buy at BB you get Holiday return scheduled, that means I can return or price match till the 24 of Jan. Love everything about it so far and am currently running DNICE slides. Did get just a tad bit of buzzing during the white slide. I will calibrate it after the break in has been complete and get the full potential out of this panel. So far great purchase and am loving it so far!!!
