Panasonic ST50 Deals - Page 25

Not familiar with Pauls. How reputable are they on this 30 day price day guarantee? I only see the 50" and 55" ST50 available with bundles (either $250 gift cards or a tv stand).

"Price matches must be like for like with the same model number, product condition, shipping charges, bundled items, taxes and any other fees or terms and conditions associated with the purchase from the competitor"

So does that potentially mean that since the TV is only available as a bundle, that they'd only pricematch amazon, bestbuy, etc. if they had the example same bundle as Paul's? Or even if it was Paul's lowering their price, that they could drop price and change the bundle, and the pricematch is not available?

Apologies if none of this is relevant, as I said I'm not familiar with Pauls.

Can't vouch for their PM policy but I got my VT from them for over $400 what I woud have paid at BB, plus they delivered for free and brought the TV upstairs for me. Awesome service, love tax free shopping.

That's an interesting point. I didn't think of that and I am not sure how they would apply those rules. Maybe I willl see.
I can tell you , however, that in general Paul's TV is a very reputable dealer with 56 stores. One is right up the street from me.

As far as PaulTV and bungles goes, My experience from seeing how they dealt with others and chatting with support would be the following:

Do no count the Giftcards in any way.
The bundle exclusion is only for notable physical extras like the TV stand bundle.

Example: Pretend Pauls is selling a ST50 for 1000 with 250 in certificates, and a ST50 with a stand for 1250.
Amazon starts a combo sale and has a ST50 for 900 and a ST50 with a soundbar for 1150.

Pauls would match price on 1000->900 but not the 1250->1150 because a stand is not a soundbar.

That makes perfect sense and that's what I would have expected. So my net price was $1149. (cards, no bundle) So, if someone else is selling it for $1148 or less within 30 days, I can submit the form and expect the difference. Simple.
On the other hand, I got a confermation e-mail stating that I would get a call from them to set up a delivery time but no call yet. They are local to me. Hmmm.

Paul's has locations here in CO. However, when I click almost all the way through an order on their website, it doesn't show any sales tax! I would assume, at some point, they must add that to the total considering their retail presence in the state. Am I missing something?

Their 30-day price guarantee would probably woo me over Amazon if I didn't have to pay tax. Otherwise the Amazon price of $1199 for the 55" ST50 - 2% rewards cash still looks more attractive.

Paul's is running a no sales tax promo. Paul's is in my state too and I paid no tax.

Yes, there's no sales tax in 48 states - they're paying the tax basically. I think this promotion ends tomorrow though.

The banner on their website calls it a "January Sale". Can't find an actual end date in black and white. I think I did read somewhere that the SAVEXX coupons expire today though. Not 100%

Yeah, maybe it's the SAVE coupons that expire - it says Jan 10 at 8 PM PST for those. Not a big deal, Amazon is only $30 more for the ST50.

Has anyone purchased a TV from Paul's that DOESN'T live anywhere near a physical store that has needed it replaced, or serviced? I live in TX, don't think they have any stores in state. Or do you go to manufacturers warranty and contact Panasonic instead if there's an issue?

I decided not to wait, and ordered a Panny P55ST50 from PaulsTV. $1149 including taxes (being in NY, AMZN would charge me sales tax even if they matched). Clicking through from ebates, I also got 2.5% which is more than the fat wallet 2%.
I am happy with a 55ST, even if the 55GT was only $100 more. 55" will be much larger than my previous 42" Panasonic, and PQ wise, the ST will be better than anything i have had previously.

You might consider looking at the Searsoutlet website....www.searsoutlet.com and searching there as well

The site is location and TV specific...and they typically do markdowns each week

I snaggeda Panasonic 50 ST50 yesterday for $329.00( including a $20.00 off for a purchase over $299 coupon)

It was a customer return...but perfect condition..new TV warranty and all the materials except the original box came with it

I had to drive 2 hours to pick it up...but for $329 for the picture quality and the time to get it..I am VERY satisfied

Double factory warranty with my visa and will likely expand the warranty to 5 years( through my visa ) as well for about $60

I have scored 5 TV's at Firesale pricing in the last 2 years....bought two of them just to flip for a profit actually

is there a "cheap date" on the Panny active glasses?..like the Samsung(Best Buy) $19.99 ones?

Wow! That is a great deal...considering that I just looked and the prices they show for refurbs were at best, marginally cheaper than new ones elsewhere! A reconditioned P55ST50 is $75 more expensive than Amazon. Plus, they are trying to charge $250 for shipping. Not surprised why Sears is slowly going the way of the dodo.

The one good deal I noticed (if I were in the market for the size and lived in FL) is a 65" ST50 for $1949.

I have seen prices higher and far lower than the market at searsoutlet.com

it "seems" when they have ample national inventory...say more than 30-40 units..the prices can be very aggressive

when the inventory weans down then they seem to stop making weekly adjustments

I was actually looking for a deal on last years Samsung D7000 series in a 55( or a 46) when I came across this deal on the ST50

Its a two fold deal....you have to find the deal and then it has to be a driveable distance from you

most of the time..when I see a deal ...its not driveable OR its not a model I am interested in

But...keep looking weekly..if you have the patience...something will come up

Oops! I went completely rogue and switched my order to a 55GT50 for $100 more. It arrives Saturday.

Good move. No-brainer at that price.

I'm taking delivery of a 55ST50 from them on Sunday. Is switching up really a no-brainer?

Honestly, what additional benefits does the GT offer? I couldn't find any info online that spoke to PQ improvements.

Just took delivery of 65ST50.
Looking forward to playing with it this weekend.

for a $100 more I would have gone the GT at the above $1K pricing

I figure you will have the TV at least 4 years...the THX mode is worth the extra $25.00 per year....the HDMI input..probably $0

Pretty much what I was going to say. Also, I believe it is just a touch thinner and has an extra HDMI input.

For me...
1. Dual processor for zippier apps. Not even sure I'll use the apps but if I do it will be a better experience.
2. Adds two very good THX modes, cinema and bright room. I think I will be using D-Nice's settings primarily be I can imagine wanting a quick solution for a bright room and this TV has it. THX bright room at the touch of a button. Not about PQ per se but a nice additional set of options for a good picture.
3. Design. I feel that the GT50 has much classier styling compared to the ST50. I plan on owning this set for a long time and I feel that the look of the GT50 is more upscale and will look a lot better hanging on my wall. That one is purely subjective but there you have it.
All those features, not at $400 or even $200 more but at only $100 more made the GT50 a no brainer for me. YMMV

The metal bezel does look nicer. However, I've read about the input lag on the GT & VT testing higher than on the ST. I don't do TONS of gaming but I am sensitive to lag and it's not an area I want to sacrifice. However, I haven't really been able to find anyone with definitive gaming experience between the two.

Well there you go. I do zero gaming so input lag doesn't even cross my radar. Everyone has there own set of priorities.
