What goes best with the Monoprice speakers

So it looks like I am going to go with the Monoprice speakers for L, R, Center and surrounds. (not sure what the diff is tho between the 6.5 and 8" ones)

My question, though, is what goes best with them as far as a Sub and a Receiver? Can any of you recommend what to put with them or what woudl go best? Not sure I am in the right forum. If not, where should I post? Thanks.

White Wine...

I see Monoprice has inwall Centers and Subs. It would be your best bet at matching Center Timber to your other speakers.

Receivers, however, you need to be more specific with Budget, size of room and if you have a mix of analog and digital inputs.

Budget, I would say 300-500? I dont know for sure yet. It will be for HT setup. The Room is in my basement. I dont have the exact measurements handy but it the room itself will be split up some so the whole room doesnt need it. Probably 15x20ish?

Plenty of options under $500.

Marantz 5005 and 5006 or Onkyo NR709 from accessories4less.com

Denon 2112, Yamaha RX-V867 or 671,

Is that $300-$500 for the receiver AND subwoofer? If so, you need to clarify.

I dont knw man. I am so confused with this stuff. Im trying to cut costs b/c I am getting the basement finished. So I want a decent system. I know the Mono price arent that great. But for the price, i read they are good. I have alot of other expenses with this basement so I am really trying to limit wher ei can without TOTALLY sacrificing sound. I will have 100" screen with Epson projector, LRC Monoprice and was considering also bying the Monoprice sub with it....then getting a decent receiver.......

What about something like this:

http://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-RX-V373...=5336055023-20

I dont want to get a reciever that is "too good" for the speakers and dont want to get one that is not good enough..which I am guessing will be hard to do with these cheaper speaks. I dont want something that is too powerful or where I wont be able to use all the features/power with what i have.....hope that makes sense...thanks guys.

I would take the Denon AVR 1612 over the Yamaha because of better room correction software.

But if you really want to save money then the Yamaha 371 may interest you.

Or the Pioneer VSX-821 which has an additional $20 off with a promo code.

Thanks Afro.

I like the HK one mentioned above too. Just wondering if that would work good as well. This is for HT.....

I'm sure the HK would be fine. The HK AVR-2600 is also available under $400.

Doing some price shopping.....any thoughts on quality in relation to price and which you would go with:

>>HK AVR 1650 ----$333.91 shipped
>>Denon AVR 1612----$251 Shipped
>>Denon AVR 1912 ---$300 local
>>Yamaha RX V373----$249 shipped
>>Pioneer VSX-821----$150 shipped

I think the Onkyo NR709 is out of my price range I think. The more I look at these, I am not sure I need all that. What does the NR709 have that I would need that the other 4 above dont have?

Thank you all.

the HK has 7.1 channels, but the Denon has audyssey EQ

I'd get the Denon 1912. Its the only one on the list with networking, internet streaming and can be controlled by a smartphone.

The Onkyo NR709 offers a better version of Audyssey, the ability to connect an external amp, better video scaler and a few more connections. But there is also a recall on this receiver so you may want to stay away. The Denon 1912 should be more than enough for your needs.
