See When do the 2013 Denon's come out? Any new features we should expect?

All the known facts are there.

yeah I saw that and don't really want to read through 11 pages of comments to figure out when they're out, I found a comparison chart on google so I know a little bit of the differences, basically the 1713 will have the network capability of the 1912 and the features of the 1712 plus some more power, thats all I needed to know on that front. I'm just curious when they come out so I can figure out when i'm buying a discounted 1712 or a new 1713

May.

The dealer where I am is now flogging off their stick the models 1912 and below. 2312 and above not on sale and have not been for a while.

I asked and was told May likely but not which models coming.

So looking at discount patteter, most likely the first release is imminent and contains replacement for 1912 and below.

On the other hand, they might be deliberately doing this to work out production kinks on the lower end models.

I'd just take advantage of the sales now on the stable product. Never any life changing leaps in these things.

so you don't think the 1712 will go any lower on the day the new models come out?

It's a cheap low end product probably sold at low margins. What shall you save ? 10%? 20? If you need one now you need one now? If its not that urgent maybe you don't needc on at all. If price is ultra sensitive you can achieve a much lower price on a used receiver. Personally I wouldn't obsess over release date.

I just need to know one thing. Does Airplay finally work in zone 2 completely independent of zone 1? Anyone try it out yet?

If I am not mistaken, you had to step up from the 1712 to the 2112ci if you wanted zone 2, airplay, and multieq XT. It seems that the 1713 has the best of all of those worlds now.

But it also looks like there is a catch:
"With the addition of an external amplifier, the AVR-1713 supports multi-zone operation, allowing two different sources to be enjoyed in separate rooms at the same time."

So what would be a good example of an external amplifier? I would like to make my backyard deck zone 2.

Edit: By the way, does anyone think that the 2-year versus 3-year warranty is really a big deal. It is disappointing that the 1713 only comes with the 2-year warranty.

If waiting a week will save me $50+ then why not wait? I'm not that impatient.

Also I need multiEQ and the previous denon's didn't come with that from what I know

Oh epic! If the older denons have multiEQ then I have no need for a new one, just something with good sound and cheap.

So is the 1712. If you purchase with certain credit card like Amex, you get an additional year of warranty. Frys had the 1712 for $227, most folk got it for $250.

You can do a lot better than that. Go to Upromise (for example) and check under their cashback shopping for coupon deals for the 1712 at Electronics-Expo.
