Help me complete my HT with final sub choice

Setting up my home theater and have purchased a LG 65, and it will be mounted on a wall inside my family room (15' x 25'). Got the Denon 2112 receiver, Klipsch RB61 & RC62 as my front and center speakers. Some ceiling mounted speakers are the rear.

Lastly I need to pick a subwoofer to go with it all. Need to keep it under $500. Was looking at the Klipsch 12. But also looking at the Velodyne EQMax10 and the Energy VSW10.

Can you recommend what's the best out of the three, or some other one under $500 (non-used). Will be using it for mostly tv/movies/games. And about 20% of the time for music. Don't need thunderous bass. Just look for good quality.

Thanks.

That is a large room to fill but if you must keep it under 500 I would at least consider this. http://www.hsuresearch.com/products/vtf-1mk2.html

I'd go for the Cadence CSX-15. The most output you're going to get for $500.

You do give up sub 25hz output though, which no <$500 can really do anyway.

The Epik Legend is $499 plus shipping and is considered one of the best subs in that price range. Assuming you don't have cathedral ceilings or you have an open floor plan, this should be enough sub for your room. Much better than that Energy VSW10, which I have the older version of, the Mirage Prestige S10 (Mirage and Energy have the same parent company and sometimes release the same subs under different lines). The Energy VSW10 would be a nice sub for music listening in a small to medium room, but it drops off fairly fast under 30hz; for HT usage, one usually wants solid performance down into the low 20hz range, if not better.

Another sub to look at for around $350 would be the Premier Acoustics PA-150 (here's a thread about it). Probably close in SPL to the Cadence, but also with the same problem of not great output below 30hz. In fact, I would probably choose it over the Cadence 15" just because it's not clear yet whether or not the Cadence performs better than the PA-150. Here is some reliable performance test data on the PA-150.
