A historical Taiwanese war film that centers on the conflict between an indigenous clan from the mountains of Taiwan and an invading Japanese army. International famed filmmaker John Woo is billed as the film's exec. producer.

Watched this last night....very interesting story.
Primarily because I didn't know much about the background of the native Taiwanese.

The plot involves the struggle of the aboriginal people of Taiwan against Japanese invaders over the first half of the 20th century.

The native peoples were not Chinese, but of Austronesian ancestry.
