Ripping Blu-Rays with lossless audio

So I'm trying to rip my blu-ray collection to MKV's and I'm having trouble getting the lossless audio to stick. I grab the largest M2TS file (or collection) from the BMDV/STREAM folder of the Blu-Ray. I use MKV Merge to take out all the foreign audio tracks and subtitles. When I check the media with mediainfo and Media Player Classic - Home Cinema the DTS-HD MA bitrate shows up as 1561 / 1510.

Is their something wrong with my process? I'm wondering where the extra information is lost. Thank you for your help.

What software are you using to rip the BD? If you haven't already look into EAC3TO. Its command-line based (a gui version is AnotherEAC3TO) but from personal experience it does a great job of ripping the video and audio lossless.

Take a look at DvdFab HD. It will succeed in doing what you want to do, it's fast, and should you need to, shrink the files down or passthru the audio and video untouched... subtitles... etc.

This is the only program that I use and have been using it for years.

Check out MakeMKV. Works great! I ripped all my Blu-rays.

^ Seconded. I've used MakeMKV on hundreds for the last year and it's worked well. eac3to is a very powerful tool, but I prefer stripping down to HD audio, untouched video, chapters and forced subs into an MKV in one step. Select BD iso or folder structure, outputs MKV- easy as that.

MakeMKV is great. I love it! I have a MacBook and it works great for DVDs and Blu-rays as well as HD DVD's (although I don't have an external Blu-ray drive any more :/). The bit rate should be correct as DTS-HD is Core + Extension which means the 1510 is the core and the 1561 is the difference between the core and the original PCM signal compressed losslessly. I have a ton of DTS-HD samples as allot of them display the same or similar bit rate. I uploaded an attachment of a screenshot of The Expendables that I ripped in MediaInfo.
