Realistic Lab-420 Turntable

I recently acquired a beautiful Realistic Lab-420 with the usual broken out plastic dust cover hinges. Has anyone tried replacing them with the look-alike Linn turntable hinges? Are they an absolute match?

Don't use the hinges. Don't use the cover while listening to music (it just adds distortion.) Place the unhinged cover onto the turntable when its not in use.

I have heard that. But the beauty of this turntable (not totally unique) is that the dust cover can be simply and easily pulled off the hinges. It's only "captured", not attached. I'm trying to keep the table as close as possible to original.

I just answered my own question: I ordered the Linn Sondek LP12 replacement hinges and they fit! So for anyone with the Realistic "capture" hinges, like the Lab-420 and Lab-440, these work!

Now I have another problem. This TT has a repeat feature. It will replay the record up to 5 times. Well, the control dial ratchets back one number after a play, but doesn't repeat - just shuts down. Anyone have this unit? Does yours work?

Looking for info on this table, and came across this thread.  Yes, I have a Lab-420 and the repeat function works fine.  Good sounding table.  $30 bucks, plus shipping for hinges.  Yikes!!  I need them, and a couple of feet, too, but I guess I will have to wait for the parts to show up on ebay, or take the advice of other responders to this thread.  Cheers
