Hi guy's,
i have couple of old speakers and receivers that i don't use and doesn't work anymore.
Will e waste take them or just regular trash?.

Best to contact your local government (whoever picks up your trash) and ask them. Local requirements differ.

Set them out on the curb for a while. They'll probably disappear.

Around this neck of the woods you have to pay to get rid of stuff if you just want to throw it away. I think it would be $10 to get rid of the receiver here at the recycling center, but not sure about the speakers.

Craigslist can be a great way to get rid of stuff that works (even nominally) - either offer it for free or for a relatively small price (you know, like $10-$20).

If you can't give it away (for whatever reason), please recycle it, even if you have to pay a small fee to do so. It's just the more appropriate solution, especially if we're talking about older equipment (you know, that pre-RoHS stuff that will leech all manners of hell into the ground). As mcnarus said, contacting your local government is probably a good idea if you're unsure where to go - the trash co may also be a resource.

Check your local Best Buy, the one in my town will recycle old electronics. Other electronics stores often have recycle days, and your local government probably has a program.

Well said - please recycle!

If you're in L.A. County, check this site for e-waste collection events and permanent drop-off sites. All free of course.

If outside the County, just Google ewaste for your area.

BTW, the suggestion to use Freecycle is great. I too have gotten rid of just about anything you can think of that way.
