Distribution Amp for OTA

My house is out in the country. Good sight lines and close to towers but the angle is fairly wide at about 160 degrees from one tower to the other. Thinking about getting the Monoprice outdoor antenna.

4 locations that I need to distribute the signal from the antenna. They won't be extremely long runs. 3 of them would be under 40 ft. One would be about 60 or so.

Should I be looking at a distribution amp?

Thanks.

I would not bother with a Monoprice antenna. You are very close to the towers that if you get a conventional outdoor VHF/UHF antenna, it might pick up stations even if not aimed directly at the towers. You might even get away with an indoor antenna aimed at a sweet spot.

I doubt you need an amp since your signals are strong. a conventional 4 way splitter will do the job with no problem.

I was looking at the monoprice since it's small and seems to have a good reputation. We get a lot of hail storms here and want something durable if it's outside. Maybe I should think about an antenna in the attic. I want it out of the way.

You can get away with putting it inside. Even something like this would work:

Your biggest problem is going to be trying to find that sweet spot that gets everything, but since you are so close to the towers, you should be able to get it. If you can't get everything in the attic, try putting up a bigger antenna in the attic, or outdoors for better reception, even this low budget outdoor antenna from Radio Shack would do.

Radio Shack has a good return policy if you are not happy.

The monoprice antenna does not work well for VHF channels, which you have.

What would be the best option for an attic antenna? Just the standard rabbit ears and loop style?

If you have regular asphalt shingles with no foil vapor barrier in the attic, a dipole/loop antenna would likely work for your major networks, which are strong. This specific model from RS usually works well. The loop is larger than many similar looking dipole/loop antennas, and should work better than lookalike antennas, for the channels of interest in the UHF band in your area.

If you need a distribution amp, the CM (PCT) amp should work.
