Have an AVR 1612. As y'all know you can add a 2 channel amp and make it 7.1. When you do add the amp for the rear surrounds does that cause the system to have audio lag on the 2 amplified speakers?
It shoudn't although don't recall whether there has been a 1612 owner post in the Denon AVR-XX12 Owner's thread (linked in my sig) that they've actually added an amp to expand to 7.1.
Thanks. I've read a little bit about it and supposedly for movies adding rear speakers only enhances effects in a 7.1 system and isn't that much different for sound over a 5.1. I'm not trying to sound like a know it all asking questions, but trying to figure out the best way to go for a nice sounding system. I don't know much but am trying to pick it up.
The vast majority of owners only have a 5.1 setup. No reason not to stick with that for now and put the money saved not buying an amp into a speaker upgrade (or perhaps adding another sub) down the road at some point.
Yeah. My next purchase will be building a 15" sub. When I can afford it I want to build towers speakers. I thank you for your help. I'll prob wait for now before I do that upgrade until I learn a bit more. I'm not a fan of wasting money lol.
