Currently driving a set of KEFIQ70 with its matching IQ60 Center and a Denon 1712 Looking for a sub to go with this set.... Looking for something of grat quality that is musical and clean....

Options:

Energy 10.3 from Newegg $229
Velodyne Impact 10 from Electronic Expo $229
PA-120 $259

Any other choices I should consider... trying to stay within my budget. I hear the Energy 10.3 has a very bright Blue Light. Is that a concern? THank you ...

Your budget for the sub does not match up to the quality of your other speakers. Those are good budget subs you have listed, but I would not consider them the same class as the speakers you have. Subs cost more because they are a speaker and an amp.

I would recommend you wait until you can afford one of the 12" subs from the major Internet direct vendors, such as the Epik Legend, Rythmik FV12, or Outlaw Audio Plus (which is currently on sale through the weekend).

I thought these were decent subs..Thank you for your heads up on these. BUT I DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT SUBS... WOuld Klipsch Reference 12 or 10 be an upgrade over these or A kEF Kouro 1

The Internet direct sub retailers you see mentioned on this forum are the best bang for your buck at their price point. The Klipsch Reference RW-12d is a good $300 sub (when you can get it for that), but it is not the same class as those other three I listed.

All those subs are quite a bid more than I can spend right now....... Thank you for your input..... Maybe I keep an eye on the Klipsch Reference which is close to my budget.....

The RW-12d is known for being excellent for HT for it's price because of its frequency response and SPL output, but it's not considered the most musical sub.

Newegg just put the RW-12d on sale for $329 through tomorrow, promo code EMCYTZT1503.
