After reading the recent review of the $9,000 MSRP Paradigm Sub 2 by Josh Ricci in Audioholics, I came across the EbenLee Audio Reference 12 which sells for $8,900.
Sporting a single 12 inch driver the Reference 12 has a 1,000 watt amp. The specs for the Reference 12 are a frequency response of 20-150Hz -3db/+0db at 100db indoors. The Reference 12 weighs 270 pounds and the size is 19H X 19W X 29D. Oh yes, it has a Q of 6.08.
On the surface it would seem that the Sub 2 with its 6 ten inch drivers and 4,500 watt amp would have a substantial advantage over the Reference 12, but surely there is something else going on with the Reference 12 beyond the lovely well made cabinet and the Q of 6.08.
