Between these 2 speakers you would be hard pressed to tell any difference, regardless of room as long as they are set up in the same spot. Both are front port bass reflex designs with almost perfectly identical enclosure volume and displacement for the cone. When I had a chance to AB these speakers last year the only difference my ears could tell was that the Q300's upper midrange and treble wasn't as smooth and pink noise and sine sweeps would show subtle differences as well. A bit more choppy on the Q300. But with a good eq, both would sound literally identical. Bass extension was the same. Both speakers had solid extension down to just under 40hz in room.
